I seem to be capped at 100. Normal?
there is a framerate cap in advanced settings, change it.
This can also be controlled from your GPU game settings. Nvidia’s panel has a toggle for this.
Settings, also if your monitor doesn’t support the high end frame-rate there is no real reason.
Check your graphics card settings and the in game graphics for the framerate cap. Of course some areas are gonna be laggy even with the cap off due to AOEs (see: Saphirron’s Blizzards…which before tbc patch didn’t tank framerates.)
Why does anybody need higher than 100 fps?
Smoother gameplay, honestly… i can’t explain it, it’s something you have to experience to understand.
Anything over twelve is just showing off.
Some experts will tell you that the human eye can see between 30 and 60 frames per second . Some maintain that it’s not really possible for the human eye to perceive more than 60 frames per second.
Well, those experts might wanna rethink some things… I can tell the difference between 60 and 144. Your timing becomes better due to things being smoothed out.
Again, it’s something you gotta experience for yourself, you may not notice it… but plenty do.
Have you been bitten by any mutant spiders by chance?
If I did, I wouldn’t be working and I’d be ruling. It’s not just me that sees the difference.
I wonder if it’s like a placebo thing, or it’s entirely possible that I’m wrong. Maybe it’s more of a feel thing rather than a see thing. For me anything over 60 fps is gravy.
Look, I don’t know how else to tell you that it’s noticeable… maybe not everyone notices it. But it’s not a “placebo”
the refresh rate on their monitor.
nop dont need it
