Hello. I recently bought a new PC much better than the one I previously had just to play WoW and raiding environments in general but the game has loading screens that take minutes to end, the initial one takes at least 10 minutes to end and the game runs at 5 or less FPS stuttering and freezing the whole time even at secluded spaces with no objects. The worst part is that the PC I had previously for at least 8 years runs the game at solid 40 fps dropping to 15 or less in high movement/crowded places and makes no sense that a PC 20 times better can’t run the game.
The game was freshly installed without addons, no additional configurations, all drivers up to date and even BIOS and the other stuff that a new PC requires.
These are the specs of the new PC: imgur(dot)com/a/HQgYODe

Is wow installed on the HDD, or the ssd?
Also, only 4gb of ram and in single channel mode is going to be be an issue.
Yes it is installed on the SSD, also what do you mean by the ram issue? How do I solve that?
You add a 2nd stick of ram. That’s put you at 8gb, which I would still consider low.
Your problem lies in how little RAM your system have, 4gb now adays is far too little, even 8gb is little but managle, I suggest you get 16gb of RAM, and get 2 sticks of 8gb not one of 16gb, of same speed and model , they sell in packages of 2 already if you look around.
When installing look at the motherboard manual for how to install them to activate dual channel
Thanks for the answers, I can work something out now but guess I’ll go back to the good old pc I had before meanwhile
Out of curisoity , how much RAM your old pc have?
Where did you get your new computer from? Nobody has mentioned this and while it can be reported wrong that shot shows a 1660 super 2GB which is a card that does not exist. If it really does have 2GB then it’s an old crap card that’s been reflashed to say it’s a 1660 super and that would also contribute to your poor performance.
This^ Also that ram speed is far below recommended for that 3600x, I would get at bare minimal 3200mhz 2x8GB (16gb total), but prefer 3600mhz 2x8gb (16gb total)sticks.
I don’t think your PC is the problem. You can play wow on a potato if you wanted. Here are some things to try before you do anything drastic.
- In game try switching between DX 12, 11, and 11 legacy. Many people are having issues with new DX changes in WoW.
- Try rolling back your graphics card Driver.
- In game make sure WoW is using your graphics card and not on-board graphics.
- Lastly, because you have the minimum amount of RAM close any background programs that use a lot of memory.
Here is a link to a post on that pertains to the same issues you seem to have. 9.1 FPS drops, stutters, choppy
