So, there is a “welcome back” gear update option but will choosing this restore my levels as well? Isnt there just a way to put them back as they were ? I guess i dont get why they were squashed to 32/33 from 70 - 80 .wassup wit dat?
Because 80 is the new max level.
NM, i found the answer on line already, apparently this is old news but yeah ive been gone that long.
There was a level squish done for Shadowlands. How long has it been since you had access to those characters?
The gear update will not affect levels. You would need to level the characters or apply a boost to them to give them higher levels.
Welcome back!
and just so you know, if you haven’t already found out, leveling is quite a bit faster, so it won’t feel quite so grindy.
Just FYI - There has actually been two level squishes in the history of WoW. The first with patch 6.0.2 at the beginning of Warlords of Draenor, and the second with patch 9.0.1 at the beginning of Shadowlands.
If you’ve been gone longer than 2014, then it’s very possible that your characters are very low level now.
No, there’s only been 1 level squish. Level 90 in 5.4 was still level 90 in 6.0.
What you might be thinking of is stat squishes, of which we’ve had 3 (6.0, 8.0, 9.0).
Basically, in 9.0, 120 became the new 50. And we’re already back up to 80 again.
Yes, its going pretty fast, so its not all bad but it was still depressing to have left an Epic geared Priest who had Purples in almost every slot at 80,and be told that " well a 33 in greens is now equal to that". Yeah, nah it aint i had to do countless raids and pvp to earn those purples and now i got greens lol. Oh well, it is what it is i guess.
That happens every new expansion release. All that we earned previously gets replaced at some point while questing and the cycle starts all over again.
