vengeance DH for tanks
aug of course
high single target damage classes probably since there’s no voice comms to target call (people going to do their own thing)
but the beauty of rss is there is no fotm buddy, play to your hearts desire because you’ll always get a game
Aug/Rogue/Guardian 95% good bets
People gonna learn about Spatial Paradox > Swoop Up on CTF maps real quick.
Healers/actual DPS are going to depend on tuning. But mechanically, spammable 4+ second CC is really strong on Domination maps - so Advantage to R Druids/Presvokers. MWer current stacked in RBGs more than any other spec, and even with bad tuning it’ll have Peaceweaver, ROP, and z-axis abuse.
You can bet Afflock/Boomie will be good because of their damage profiles and spammable CC for taking bases.
I Disagree. I think rot is better for uncoordinated play. Everyone is going to have like 1mil HP and 40%+ Versatility so survivability is high enough to stop a lot of wombo combos. Healers will eventually not be able to keep up with Afflock/Spriest/Boomie.
This being said, we don’t know final tuning so we can’t really answer OP’s question.
Maybe Shammies wind up with a million damage one-shot or something.
I think Guardian>Veng. Guardian’s Mastery and mechanics are tanky into all forms of damage. Veng is still parry based and requires more active mitigation, so it’s scuffed against RDPS and magic. Guardian can also stealth to flag, while Veng is going to get manhandled by Rogues in path to flag.
Guardian also have a lot of passive aoe/reflected damage mechanics so they can spin flags while in CC.
Veng may be good as a base-taker because of its double sigils talent + Imprison + Stuns, but it’s prone to CC itself. Guardian still has Cyclone - which is the best not-stun CC in the game.
Veng probably better than Guardian on SSM/EOTS, but I’d give Guardian advantage on every other map.
Big agree, though a little mix is great. I used to love Warrior/Lock/Druid no voice for this exact reason, one to rot, one to finish.
Now expand that into rbgs, MM hunters and afflictions, moonkins, etc.
Guardian for sure FOTM tank, I really hope they mirror tanks too because if we have to deal with blood dk fc vs guardian fc I will weep.
its the exact opposite in rss, but maybe for rbgs it will better.
maybe, feel like the theme of this expansion has been people getting obliterated though. there are some tanky stuff for sure, esp with aug though.
oh yah forgot about druid, thats current meta in rbgs right? theyre gonna cook for srue
Afflock only gets 3 targets in RSS, but up to 8 in SRBGs :l
I played about 7 hours of the Brawl on PTR and Afflock/Boomies are taking the cake in team fights like EOTS. Healers can’t keep up forever with the spread pressure, while the direct damage specs aren’t coordinated enough to combine burst on the same target in the same CC window.
Direct damage might be better on Kotmogu because of the orb debuff. You find a 3 second window and the orb-holder evaporates.
I did a hard carry as Devastation just by constantly grabbing Berserker and unleashing Ghidorah’s wrath every 30 seconds. Compare my KBs to the Afflocks I’m sandwiched between.
Is that what it’s called? Rated solo shuffle rated random battle ground? Lol
Yep you heard it here first RSSRBGS
It’s called Blitz. I don’t know why people say rss/shuffle rbgs because there’s no shuffling. ![]()
BGB is a good acronym too. atlas shrugged
My mind was trying to make sense of blitz ground battles for far too long
dyslexia is a tragic afflction of worgen
Rot is good at low rating, because healers do not understand how to heal through it efficiently. At high rating you need to blow things up in goes. Single target will always be more consistent for RBGs.
And veng is better than guardian for the purposes of just trying to win. Higher ratings guardian will be better just due to raw mitigation. But those are also up in the air due to 10.2 changes, as something else can randomly come up. Veng also easily allows base holding.
Hey that was my lock uwu.
GGs my dude ![]()
Affliction is relatively target capped at 3 people tbh
Prot war, frost dk, ret paladin mm hunter shadow priest and mistweaver
ya these all seem strong
druids and sub rogues also likely to be op
assuming a soft cap around 2400 where elite players settle I think the 1700 area is going to be fine for things like balance affliction or even ele sham rerolls to zug zug and make strategic mistakes but still succeed.
I think rogue is too punishing despite all its strengths, if players struggle rerolling in arena because of the micromanaging of control they’re only going to struggle more having to manage objectives, especially playing a class thats typically going to be assumed to be on solo harassment/delay duty.
Frost dk and mm (even survival) I think are going to be the strongest picks for fotm roaming. Ferals equally strong just I think its mechanically more difficult to pull off and the reward for doing so in an 8v8 isn’t as high. Ret will sort of be the dark horse roamer / anti roamer solo hero who fits into any comp and adjusts their own strategy based on their team.
I think arms and fury are going to potentially be the absolute worst players to have on your team. The good ones are going to skyrocket while the mediocre ones hold back their team absorbing too much support from their allies.
ya but shadowy duel
i imagine a lot of melee will just not come out to play
