Forum Life: How Do You Interact?

Perfect example. The previous posts were all able to understand what was being discussed. This person simply chose not to post Option B.

No, a fact is a fact. If you question it then you can google it. This not a formal debate but a game forum we donā€™t have to list a citation. I get a little peeved when people as for citation. Not because I donā€™t like being questioned but because they could have taken the time to look it up for themselves. Instead they ask for citations to either ignore them or outright dismiss them. This way they can continue to claim ignorance about issue, claim the information given is false or say it is an opinion.

What is the use of having access to all this information if you are not going to use it. :rage:

If it were ever turned into a Machinma, I admit freely here and now, I would tune in.

Unfortunately yeah. Already seeing the dishonesty lol.

Iā€™m sure theyā€™re good people too, just misunderstood. Good number of us have abrasive communication styles but itā€™s so hard to tell if itā€™s intentional or not.

I feel as though most of us are misunderstood in our own ways. Feels like the common bond in WoW.

I donā€™t get upset because I usually have a citation standing by if I am emphatically enforcing a fact. But since 95% (or more) of my posts are purely opinion based, I simply remind them I am stating an opinion. This does one of two things. Either calms them down as I am admitting is it not a fact, or agitates them even more because now they look silly for calling me out for an opinion and seem to want to fight further.

Thatā€™s not always the case.

I donā€™t need to cite a gd thing when I declare that the Earth isnā€™t flat. Or that WoW is 20. Or that Trix still isnā€™t for rabbits, because they have serious issues with glucose.

I run by my own playbook

I donā€™t reconcile, we just divorce and I leave the children with my ex. Meaning I mute the thread. Muting threads is the best thing I have done on here, for me and others tired of me posting.

I have no idea how much longer Iā€™ll be in timeout lol

I feel like itā€™s been a while since I got the ol mod boot but the gif powers evade me still.

In which role? I canā€™t turn off the green so some topics I am just providing information, links, policy explanations, etc. Information does not always make someone happy, but at least they can have a full understanding of how Blizzard processes work.

For general chat? I tend to engage in things I am interested in, which is largely policy related (not a shock). I tend to especially discuss forum functionality and policies as opposed to just game policies. Occasionally I jump into threads on game features I happen to care about, like accessibility (yay for follower dungeons!!).

Last category you forgot. BORED!!! Just plain bored. I am currently waiting for enough snow to melt so I can go get a prescription. :dracthyr_shrug:

Sometimes it is just fun to chat with people in the Lounge or whatever, like this thread.

Walk away. Just donā€™t bother to reply. It happens pretty often, and there are certain persons who have axes to grind. Being green makes my posts a substitute for Blizzard in some peopleā€™s eyes so they direct things at me when it is really meant for Blizzard. I assume the player is frustrated and upset, and just does not know the difference. In those cases I try to just give them the info they need so they can make the best of the situation they are in.

For the really dedicated mean ones, report and ignore. I think I only have one or two on my ignore list though and the few who do make it there are usually temp.

If it is super obvious, sure. But if your claim has something to do with an in game change, and your opposition or defense regarding that change, a citation is ideal. We all know the Earth is round. We have pictures from space to prove it, and science has defined how refractive light waves work.

Which is why I preface things the way I do, because others can misconstrue my tone through text.

I say please. Sorry. My bad. Not looking for fights. I mean I know yall are just robots, but itā€™s my only source of real social interaction that isnā€™t obligatory patient care

And after a long shift, Iā€™m likeā€¦leave me alone. But I donā€™t bring the bad juju to the forums. Peace and blessings to all

You know darn well theyā€™re going to twist your words and say ā€œWe all know x.ā€ That type of response is one of the more unpleasant interactions around here. As if communication and information isnā€™t highly variable or opinionated in a given theoretical context.

I have edited the OP to make this Option D :yellow_heart:

Iā€™ve had to start saying, ā€œIn my personal, subjective opinion, that only applies to me, while speaking for no one else, and admitting this is NOT a factā€¦ā€. Pretty sad when a preface has to feel like an epilogue

Equal parts A and D. Welcome to the DAā€™s office.

It depends who it is. Iā€™m here a lot and thereā€™s a lot of names I recognise. And if itā€™s someone I know I usually get along with I donā€™t want things to stay angry. Not that Iā€™m assuming Iā€™m as familiar to them. It just feels weird for me to go onto another thread where me and that person back on the same page with this new subject, when over in the first thread weā€™d just been bickering.

But they havenā€™t figured out why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch! So maybe I need a citation proving these ā€œscientistsā€ arenā€™t just a bunch of posers staying at a Holiday Inn.

I might be delirious from hypothermia btw. Just fyi.

Citations are ideal, yes.

Definitely adds sting to option B.

And no Option SQUIRREL?:chipmunk:

Bored. Not with my hyper introspective INFP. I love the banter, but I stay for the humor. Gotta laugh about something
