I recently returned and when I selected my characters for this account all of them say created the moment I select them and I have no forum history anymore. Ive had this account since the release of TBC if i remember correctly and im fairly sure I posted here before. What happened?
Different services can alter your post history, as it is tied into a character and server. If it has been a while it is likely part that. Also, there was a change in forum software used. A good majority of post history did not carry over when this happened.

Oh interesting, I did do server transfers back in about 2013 as I was on Dreadmaul in Oceania. Im assuming that affected it then
The forums have had several iterations, so the forums from when we had Burning Crusade aren’t the same as these and the posting history didn’t carry over.
These have been in place since around 2018/19.
Your history is also tied to specific characters you posted with, if you haven’t logged into that character for awhile it may not show up as an option when selecting posting avatars. Try logging into and out of the character in-game.

Okay, thank you for the response Vrakthris. I guess it makes sense a more modern system should be made. Its unfortunate the old data isn’t accessible. Also quite an interesting function to have forum interaction attached to character profiles

Also, one more thing to mention about the new Forums. They run off of the Discourse software and thus have Trust Levels (we use up to Trust Level 3 here).
Also, the Trust Levels must be maintained over a 100 day period in order to retain them.
Here are the different perks you get with each Trust Level:
In addition, Trust Level 3 posters will have access to a special Forum category (called the Lounge). It will show up in the category list once you hit Trust Level 3.

Thank you for the additional information Kyzera. Those trust levels and actions make sense.
I still do find it odd that my actions are linked to the character I selected but not the account as a whole.
People should be able to view my profile and see all active characters and be able to see posts linked to my identity as a whole.
