"Forged Gladiator's Weapon Token"

Can we please have a way to convert these tokens to Conquest Points? Or, allow them to be used to purchase other pieces of gear other than weapons? If the former, I would even be happy if it was just 500 points per coin – it’d be better than nothing!

Now – if you’re curious why I’m asking for this, my story is as follows. It’s long, but I think it outlines the reason why this is happening to folks.

So, when I first visited the Conquest vendor, I noticed that you couldn’t buy weapons until you earn a specific achievement. So, I thought, “OK, I’ll return here after I get the achievement”.

Then, I was in an Epic BG and when we won I hear the achievement sound. I couldn’t tell what achievement it was because of all the chat spam at the end of a victory in an epic BG, so I looked at my achievement window and saw that it was the conquest achievement. I was like “Cool! Now I can get a weapon!” (Of course, with all that spam I didn’t even notice that I had gotten a chest with the achievement.)

So, I go to the conquest vendor and, if you didn’t realize, the versions of the weapons that you can buy with tokens ARE NOT VISIBLE unless you have the tokens in your inventory! So, I only saw the versions available for conquest, so I bought my two-handed weapon for 1750 conquest.

Then, a couple hours later I happened to be going through my inventory and I noticed the chest and after opening I saw these “Forged Gladiator’s Weapon Tokens”. Given that there is nothing in the game about any of this to explain it – I looked online and was horrified to realize that it would allow you to get what I had purchased for free. Only at this point could I even see the weapons for sale on the vendor for the tokens too! (Again, I wouldn’t have made this mistake if they were there after I got the achievement. I would have researched those tokens!)

So, yea, I’m out 1750 conquest points and have these two “Forged Gladiator’s Weapon Tokens” that I can’t use and can’t transfer to other characters on my account. They’re totally worthless at this point. And, 1750 conquest is a LOT to lose :frowning: I tried creating a ticket to request for the weapon to be removed and the conquest restored – but it was denied.

So yea, I think there are some pretty significant errors that were made in the implementation of all this:

  1. Why does the vendor not show the weapons purchasable by tokens until they’re in your inventory? Why not make them show up once you earned the achievement, similar to the crest converting items that you can buy?
  2. Why not just have the achievement unlock weapon purchasing and award an item that provides 1750 conquest points when you use it? It would amount to about the same thing…other than allowing folks to choose other pieces than weapons if they wanted.
  3. Why have the achievement award a chest and/or currency at all? Why not just have a quest popup where you can choose either one two-handed or two one-handed weapons from the list? (Or, something similar? It just seems really convoluted for no reason.)
  4. Lack of information/documentation. Like so much in this game, you have to do research outside the game to figure things out.

I could go on…but, I think that should be enough to get the point across …lol

Possibly worse than the unnecessary complexity of getting the achivement weapon is, the free weapon is not best in slot. The general consensus is a crafted weapon with the right stats and embellishment yeilds the best results. So everyone that min maxes dps gets a free weapon from playing some, then venders or disenchants it when they get their crafted weapon.

Would have been nice if the Achivement weapon was the best item for that slot.

That’s really interesting that it’s not best in slot. Do you have a link to a guide/discussion for each class and the best pvp weapon to acquire? I don’t disbelieve you at all, I just can’t seem to find documentation on this.

The guide I was using for pvp was the one at icy-veins (Unholy Death Knight PvP Guide). I’d post the exact link, but for some reason the forums won’t let me include links here, even though it has a “link” feature in the post editor…

Id recommend asking your class discord if they have a resident pvp expert or simming it yourself. I caught wind of it a few weeks ago on a pvp guide.

Wowhead .co m has a crafting/embellishment guide but i didnt search it completely for pvp implementation.
