If dev remarks can be interpreted as the introduction of a cumulative penalty for dropping queues across all bg modes, we should see a shift in the make-up of epic teams out of the gate in Midnight, Season 2.
Recap for those not following or caring - queue syncing by large communities can have a few effects on games, even the ones they don’t queue into to. When a premades decides to ‘drop’ the queue for whatever reason, usually because not enough of their parties ‘poppep’, it’ll often create a hole in their faction’s team that takes a while to fill, sometimes leading to severely undermanned sides at the start of a match. A penalty for dropping queues may well stamp this out for obvious reasons.
Number of teams premades can get into a match will also become somewhat more rng, forcing all queues into what’s often called ‘yolo mode’, ie take whatever pops.
So premades can and will still queue sync, while being much less pedantic about what they take, and solo players will see a lot less unfilled matches and smaller more random premade groups.
Overall an improvement (?) that’ll probably please no one.
It’s all pvp modes, and we all know it’s not just one community that dodges. It’s all of you guys and we all know it. But thanks for proving me right like always little buddy
Let’s not call it dodging. Let’s call it a group of old people dropping queue when they don’t get the right number of people required to beat a random pug group. There’s more than one community that does that.
It ruins BGs - and its the one thing I agree with Brigidd on.
If Blizzard can suspend/ban the people who do it - it should be done.
It should be for all PvP but the patch notes in the PTR say specifically blitz and shuffle, they do not say for any other forms. I agree though it should be for all forms.
The only blue post I’ve seen so far said it’s for blitz and ss.
At this point I don’t really care if it impacts on unrated too. I just want good, even games where people know how to play the maps and aren’t toxic. So even numbered “premades” and healers on both teams, let’s go. Not sure that’ll happen if this change applies to unrated. It could, and probably will still be, terribly matched.
