What gives here? Anyone else experience this?
I qued DPS for solo shuffle and I was in ele.
When I got in, I was enhancement.
I tried to swap to ele but it said “this spec doesnt match your selected role”
tf??! and then it started and i had a shield equipped because i was busy trying to swap rather than change my gear.
what a waste.
I think it’s what spec you are as the shuffle pops not what you queue as
Think I had the same confusion on lock once
Might only work when you have multiple dps specs in a class
I was ele when the shuffle popped though.
so not only did it switch me to enhance, but it would not allow me to switch back.
when i left the shuffle i was ele again without changing it. but i already knew i was ele when the que popped because i was going through my talents and abilities

You were ele for both when you queued and when queue popped?
now that i think about it, i may have been enhance when i joined the que. maybe thats why.
either way, a bug?
Not really a bug because if it was rated solo shuffle they are matching u at a spec specific mmr
I just forgot if the consistency was the spec you queue as or the spec you are when you enter
that makes sense that makes sense okay. okay okay.
Whatever spec you queue as is the spec you will play as. Learned that when I queued up as fury and went arms. On beta I had marked myself as tank to see if tanks went into DPS, and queueing as arms but marked as tank made me prot in the games. Not sure if you role select heals then q as DPS if it will swap you to resto
I do agree that we need to be able to switch specs in ALL forms of PvP, be it rated or unrated. Thats the way it used to be. Thats what PvP is about… adapting to your enemy. We used to be able to change specs in arenas and bgs and stuff and people liked it more that way.
I dont want to end up in an arena where I am as a healer and everyone else gets killed besides the other healer. Then it is healer vs healer with no one able to switch over to DPS and if you are evenly matched in gear then it is a stalemate for quite some time.
Or when your teams are too evenly matched and you know you can speed things up by changing specs.
I’ve had it swap my spec from ele to enh a few times back when it first came out. Haven’t had this happen to me since though.
