You can just not use it, just like the gs addon during wotlk, you could totally not use that one and still get invited to raiding, right? Or a threat addon, addons are totally a optional thing.
The people who says that the interacion is only “invite me”, when was the last time you played wow vanilla? I was invited, more than once, by people I didn’t knew, because my name was said a lot when a group was missing a healer. This addons removes completely the part were you are invited because you are known, because there is a list of afk players waiting.
Because people like you have no clue as to what you’re talking about.
LFD didn’t break the community because it helped you get groups faster. It broke the community because it grouped you with people from other realms that had no community connection to you at all. CRZ didn’t make the world feel more alive because you saw more people. Just made it annoying because there was little actual interaction with the players you did see.
This LFD addon won’t break the community because it will only be able to suggest people in your community.
If few people use it then the queue times for it will be crazy long and it won’t be seen as an efficient way to put a group together, so then fewer people will use it. And so on. If the community really feels like its no good, don’t use it and its a self correcting problem.
I would argue this EXACT thing. As long as the automated part is broken I’m good. In fact I believe that due to the backlash the add on is having the auto invite removed.
Ion said nothing about LFG addons, he just said addons that play the game for you - like the old Decursive - would be limited. A simple UI that organizes chat messages and allows you to message people about them is not automating play.
even if lets say every one on the server uses the addon to get groups you will not need to as it reads the lfg chat and what not so you will still find groups because they will still be advertising and grouping with the people in the chat channels…I never understood this whole forced to use addons at no point have I ever felt forced to use addons no matter the popularity in any of the versions of wow over the years. no one ever came in to my house and put a gun to my head and said download this addon now.
The talent tree part is an opt-in if both people have the addon and want to share it. No different than saying, “I have these talents…”
The auto invite is, “Send me the word ‘pumpkin’ and I’ll invite you to my group.” It’s not some automatic perfect-group forming algorithm. You still need to look at the person, decide if they fit your group, chat with them, and so on. If you run with any random that messages you then you’ll probably have a bad day.
None of these take the place of forming a good group and having good communication, the backlash is much ado about nothing.
I don’t get this. If you want the features from retail, then why play classic? Retail has all the content of classic? So far I asked this 4x and no one responds other than saying I don’t know anything.
I did. And that is a stupid question. Retail doesn’t have all the content of classic. The land, the quests, all have changed. I don’t know why I have to explain this. Unless you have been living under a rock.
And like I said, my issue is the breakdown of community via the inter server grouping. That is in retail. That isn’t in Classic.
