Forced to give employees poor reviews due to quotas

Sheesh. If I “thought” about how every company I buy stuff from conducts employee evaluations I would never have time to buy anything…or probably want to.

It is a silly thing to waste time on since it is entirely outside of our control.

Sure glad the 12 month sub didn’t save money over the 6 month sub now. Wouldn’t be thrilled to be on the hook for a year when stuff like this keeps coming out.

Counterpoint, if all of us cared even a little bit about how businesses are run and employees are treated and who we gave our money to things would be a lot better.

This is why Indie games are gaining popularity, where the people count more than the shareholders and quality of the releases determine their success not some quota!

This is a terrible practice, but if you’re gonna go after Blizzard for it you’d better go after Microsoft and Amazon for it as well, because they do this too and the former’s trying to BUY Blizzard right now.

its a weird one since the successful indie companies dont stay indie forever

i was happy to give money to grinding gear games when they were indie and wholesome. then they became big and sold 80% to tencent and added a battle pass lol. went from indie and wholesome to humongous and greedy.

Yep, everything good gets swallowed up by the cycle of greed that seems to be growing daily. I’ve never seen so much outright corporate greed, they don’t even try to hide it anymore, it’s a sad world we live in now!

Not seeing the issue here…performance reviews are standard practice and no one is perfect or near it.

There is ALWAYS room for improvement. For some, the opportunities for improvement are more drastic than others.

Problem is we live in a feel-good society that loves to be cuddled about everything.

Thankfully, we live in CORPORATE AMERICA, so if you don’t agree with your employers practices or standards of review - go start your own brand.

Its not a good thing at all and i wish no company did it.

However it is also a very normal business practice. Its not something to get worked up over “blizzard does what every other large company does”.

Anyone getting outraged over it is just looking for an excuse to rage at something.

So cancel your sub, uninstall the game, and move on with your life. No one cares

capitalism at its finest.

the most unfortunate part of that any indie company that starts to take off inevitably gets bought by a giant.

Hate, bigotry, greed, it’s all out in the open anymore and too many people are just like “Meh. It’s cringe to care about stuff.”

Case in point.

LOL. Dude should have installed DBM for his job.

Nah. It’s more like “It’s too inconvenient to care about stuff.” There are no good companies. If you care about stuff like this, you wouldn’t be able to live because you would be unable to fulfill your basic needs.

Submit and bow your head.

or like I said, start your own brand if you don’t agree with corporate policy… SIMPLE.

What doesn’t move the needle is coming on a forum and complaining about it.

ROFL. You stop for flashing lights and sirens?

Weak.

They weren’t awful for 5 minutes
But to be honest, this is the dark reality of capitalism and corporations. Big ones at that. I can’t say if it is common practice since I have no experience there but it is a scummy practice.

The same with police that have quota’s on giving out tickets.

It enforces bad habits, behaviors, and overall team morality as well as breaks trust when the word is out between the group and the customers, clients, patrons etc…
