Forced PVP will always end badly. Why can't they understand this simple truth?

Fortnite is the clear winner in BR industry right now, and it’s no secret why. You get a good MIXTURE of both PvE, and PvP. Plunderstorm has virtually no PVE, and even the little amount it has is constantly interrupted by the silly amount of players. Each map has about 50% more players than it should, if we’re being honest. No matter where you land, someone is always within 40 yards. 5 out of 10 matches I play, I can’t even get done with the 1 quest at the beginning. Sometimes it’s easy like collect 30 plunder. Sometimes it’s 2 chests or elites, virtually impossible with 4 people chasing you who have spells already. THERE IS LITERALLY NO AREA OF THE ENTIRE MAP you can ever land and just coast around and attack monsters for more than maybe 20 seconds before someone comes through with speed boosts and purple spell to wreck you…

Compare this to Fortnite. You can land in a dozen spots, go talk to an NPC and buy items, chat, do a quest, fish in a stream, explore, drive around, fight someone, get away… YOU CAN’T DO ANY OF THESE THINGS IN PLUNDERSTORM. It’s simply not possible. Someone runs up on you? You’re dead, 100%, there’s no getting away. Even if you do, there’s another group that will catch you.

They really need to give people some PVE aspect to play, or this game is going to always suck. Right now, it’s soulless and miserable. It’s pure pvp sweatfest

It’s ok for people who prefer PvP to get something once every decade. We get everything else.

There’s nothing forced about Plunderstorm. You can ignore it totally and it won’t affect your WoW experience at all.

As for the transmogs, pets and mounts, you can always just wait for their recolours to turn up on the Trading Post.

When I think of forced PVP I think of getting flagged because I flew half a mile over a city of the other faction, not a completely optional game mode

750 traders tenders.

And this event was marketed as something for everyone which left a sour taste in most peoples mouths where they feel forced to get these cool new pirate theme cosmetics.

RP’ers feel forced, Collector’s feel forced, and anyone who is always hungering for more Traders Tender feels forced.

They should have you gain enough rep for 1 renown level a game so it only takes 40 matches instead of 200+.

As of right now the optimal way to get to Renown 40 is to do the quest and toss yourself into the storm.

I played about 200 games because I no life grinded it and I was mostly able to avoid pvp. Half the time the people I saw didn’t care to engage with me either lol. A large group of people like me just wanted to grind it for the rewards.

I’m not defending the mode at all but I’m just saying I got done by doing nothing but pve.

I play fortnite since the first year and it is a pvp focused game. Any battle royale is a pvp game. All pve you’re saying Fortnite has Plunderstorm has: Bosses and minor mobs.

You’re trying to compare a moderm game with 7 years of updates and content with a experimental mod in a 20 years old engine made by people who never developed a battleroyale before…

Also, Fortnite had nothing of these things when it started. No pve, no quests, no vehicles. But you’re expecting wow plunderstorm to have everything Fortnite acomplished in 7 years, at the first try with all limitations wow has…

Game development don’t works like magic.

Still not forced. Tenders aren’t mandatory.

Everyone can participate if they want.

They should probably look up what forced means.

Tenders are extremely limited resource. It is forced. If you don’t you are behind on Tenders PERMENANTLY

Fortnite wasn’t even a BR when it launched, rip that game mode.

As someone who PvE’d to 40 renown with hardly any PvP at all… This does not match my experience. There were matches where I hardly saw anyone else the entire time. Maybe one or two other people doing their thing in the distance.

Did I get obliterated a few times flying in? Yeah, but those were balanced out by the times I ran up to someone and jumped around throwing my abilities on the ground until they killed me. lol

For me the key was learning where to land and how to go about avoiding other players. Which worked pretty well once I got the hang of it.

Seems like that PvE Mode is coming. Then again, no one is being forced to play Plunderstorm. People choose to play or not. I am having a blast and I just PvE my way through it. I like that Blizz is experimenting with different modes and events. Let’s see what else they having cooking!

What happens if you miss a month of tenders? Does something happen to your character and/or game?

I took a 7 month break during S2 and now I’m worried I missed out on something.

“Im forced to participate in this content i dont like because it drops rewards!!!”

No you are not. You will NEVER EVER have every single item in this game.

This game revolves around PVE, God forbid they give PvPers something new to do.

I do agree with you that this mode sucks and it’s hard to survive unless you’re stealthing around pretending to be bushes, but it’s hardly “forced” on us. If you like it, you play. If not, don’t.

Nobody has ever forced you to pvp

Ion drives to your house and smashes your computer in front of you if you took a break and missed your tenders.

Speaking of tenders I think I’m at around 6000 unspent because most of then options are terrible every month.

…Because this mode is more akin to Warzone then Fortnite.

“But but but… the Icon is Flashing on the screen. D:”

Or Zombies from the Wrath/Shadowlands pre-patch event.

Funny how that’s given a pass, yet Plunderstorm? Nope.

Keyword being “Feel” here, because it’s completely subjective.

I’m guessing they knew full well that the reaction to Plunderstorm would be divisive at best.
