“For the Alliance” sounds awful phonetically speaking, compared to “For the Horde”, or maybe Sylvanas had a better delivery than Anduin on the BFA cinematic, I don’t know
Blizzard should come up with a new battlecry for the Alliance

Her delivery of “For the Horde!” was
ngl
Agreed, but even if it was Sylvanas saying “For the Alliance”, I still think that would sound awful
I mean Varians delivery of for the alliance was pretty darn good, plus he actually meant it
Unlike that evil creature sylvanas, who just got everyone killed cuz shes evil
Do you mean the Legion cinematic? He says “For Azeroth” instead of “For the Alliance”
the same woman said the horde is nothing months later
varian death cinematic he says for the alliance before getting finished by guldan
And that was equally epic
I guess Patty Mattson is just a great actress
When Varian is killed he loses faith in the Horde and gives a last defiant “For the Alliance” to Gul’Dan
the character itself is a joke, takes away all the glory of her spench. not the actress fault thought.
Honestly, and amusingly, I had never been more proud to be Horde than when she yelled it. My discord and I had been watching together, yammering throughout the cutscene and when she yelled that, we all hushed immediately. It was like she sent us.
The Horde has always had the objectively better battlecries. It’s not really fair to the Alliance but whatevs.
WoW used to be heavy on Horde vs Alliance. The good old days. I miss that.
It’s subconscious manipulation, nothing else.
You hear “for the Horde” more often and glorified than “for the Alliance”, making you to believe, that it feels awkward.
It’s basic 101 psychology. Same goes for renaming the phrase “Horde and the Alliance”, while it was decade-long “Alliance and Horde”.
They know how to make them you do what they want to.
I’m not a WoW historian but I’m pretty sure For the Alliance was in use as early as WCII when For the Horde didn’t become a thing until WCIII.
Bunch of copy-orcs if you ask me. Also an elf saying For the Horde will never not be goofy. Especially when that elf is Sylvanas who’s whole schtick has been using The Horde for her own ends.
I liked Anduin’s “Stand as one!” in BfA, wish that had caught on.
Look up “Blizzcon 2010: Alliance Battlecry” on Youtube. They don’t care. Look at how they made fun of this guy at Blizzcon.
Their suggestion? “Have Mercy” and then said they’re “working on it”
That was FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. But if you hire no Alliance devs, you will never get good Alliance ideas.
Turns out ruining the Horde faction fantasy is NOT enough to make the Alliance popular. I bet the devs are feeling really dumb right now.
Big disagree.
I should not be getting shivers when I watch this and a great sense of pride when Anduin says ‘For the Alliance’.
Meanwhile Sylvanas be like;
He’s literally begging a higher power to turn the tide of battle while crying ahahaha
“For the Stables!”
