For everyone who thinks Sub is OP

Look at the leaderboards for either EU or NA rogues are not over-represented in either 2s or 3s:
NA: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/game/pvp/leaderboards/3v3
EU: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/game/pvp/leaderboards/3v3
This point was mentioned earlier on the forums but needs to be re-addressed because of its significance. If sub rogues were unstoppable and broken then why is it at the top level of play they are not dominating?

When people at cr 1400 say, “I’m getting one shot, there is no counterplay to this,” clearly, there is because the counterplay is represented at higher levels of play. This post is not an argument for whether the game should be balanced around pro play or not, but to show there are counter plays to sub rogue.

I counted 22 rogues in the top 100 for 2s in na that’s quite a bit.

didnt dh use same argument in bfa as to why they werent overtuned?

While we are cherry-picking stats I count 3 in top 100 for 3s in NA barely making top 50

Representation as an argument is horrible at any point in the season but using it first week is beyond jokes.

It is OP you absolute goon

CB -> CS -> swifty -> ER -> Evis -> MFD -> Evis takes 4 GCDS and does about 30k damage. You have to trinket first cheap to not die. How is that not busted lmao

How so? And what better information do we have to base off on to produce remarks such as “rogue is op and has no counterplay”. Pro players and the top-rated player based representation are worse than the average 1400cr player ranting on the forums?? FYI I am not saying in this thread that rogues are officially balanced because representation by leaderboards states so but that’s only there is no indication they are broken more than any other class currently.

Actually analyzing gameplay and realizing rogue is clearly overtuned no matter how badly you want it to stay the way it is.

Yes, because pro players don’t care about ladder ranking most of the season let alone first week nor will they reroll to a class just because it’s busted in the first week of an expansion.

If you’re implying rogue isn’t the only broken thing in the game currently, sure, I agree, but the metric you base that off of is still extremely flawed.

To say pros don’t care about the ladder in the first week, I agree, but that doesn’t mean rogue pro players aren’t trying? What makes rogues in particular suspect to this lack of representation? There is a difference between pro players not caring about leaderboards and not trying in arenas. If you dont think pro players are not trying in arenas atm because they dont care about leaderboards I just disagree.

22 rogues in NA 2s and there is 1 dk…

Edit: in top 100

And? People make mistakes I have got 1 shot by paladins over and over… Also he plays a lot with viewers who are at much lower CR doesn’t really mean much.

Dmg tuning pass needs to happen, as well as legendarys.

Sub looks fun to play and they have MS back, good utility all of which are positives Shadowy duel should have been removed long ago imo but mechanically Its fun.

Friend sent this clip of rogue burst to me recently worth a watch

OP, any class that can 100-0 a target in 3-5 seconds who has defensives popped after trinketing isn’t balanced properly.

I’ve been 50/50 when it comes to winning vs rogue teams because of this with my darkness legendary + blur, and more times than not I still die through those defensives + incoming heals.

The crit legendary needs to be toned down a bit imo along with the ER covenant ability damage. Not neutered to the point of wasting peoples torghast grinds/covenant choice but yeah.

Yeah I agree its alittle silly but the same thing as happened to me by a Pally. To be fair there are counter plays he didn’t trinket or pop a single defensive I mean the dude has an immunity…

ok first of all even if “the top 100 only has like, a few rogues!!” was a legitimate argument for how good they are at high level, it still wouldn’t be okay because anyone and everyone who has ever done any instance of pvp can probably remark getting killed in half a cheapshot by a single rogue at least once.

it’s not healthy for the game in bgs, it’s not healthy for the game in wpvp, it’s not healthy for the game at 1400, 1800, 2200, or 2500, in 2s 3s, RBGs or anywhere at all, just because it’s not represented in the 0.00001 of the playerbase doesn’t mean you can deny the blatant evidence that the other 99.9999% of the non-rogue playerbase is suffering immensely from the outrageously unbalanced state of the class, some of which refusing to do pvp at all and hurting the overall health of the ladder and the pvp community as a whole.

I’m not saying they’re not trying in the games, there’s a difference between not caring about games and not caring about ladder placement.

Someone who cares about ladder for example would avoid queueing for fun with random comps and only queue main team things, or play more than someone who doesn’t care about pushing rating the first week.

There are too many variables to imply that because a spec doesn’t show up enough on ladder it must not be as good as people say it is.

Except a rogue doesnt kill a target within 3-5 if the other player has trinketed and popped and defensives this only occurs in double dps comps. Where in this case the teammate whos friend is dying should cc the enemy or heal his teammate.

Was an example of the amount of burst, not saying the paladin doesn’t have cds.

Yes ret paladin is also over the top rn as well numbers wise during burst window and needs to be looked at.

No, what top levels do and what the lower brackets do are entirely different things. Pros usually won’t take as much risks and stay around waiting for opportunities where they’re sure. Most of those 1400s or so don’t do this, they just keep hammering away at you and win as a result.

You ever watch high arena plays? They’re very very boring to see and watch because when one person pops something, people back off. If there’s an active defensive going on, the offending team backs away and waits for that defensive to wear off. In the lower brackets this usually does not happen very often. They will keep hammering you and most of the time it actually works out.
