Follower Dungeons - Initial Daily Limit

Your tone is respectful but you’re still being somewhat dismissive of some of the most prominently appealing elements of follower dungeons:

  1. They’re a godsend For classes/specs you don’t want to play with live players. I have an alt of almost EVERY SPEC lined up at level 60 for follower dungeons. For some, yes, queueing would be a suitable undertaking once at the 10 dungeon limit, but then there’s the other end of the spectrum:

  2. They’re a path for classes/specs who comparatively suck at the open world. Can every spec solo? Of course. Is it an even playing field? Absolutely not, and both follower dungeons and delves alleviate the need for Blizzard to ever fix that. For me, healers check both boxes: I don’t want to heal live players, healing specs are awful at soloing, and my healer spec characters (who have been shelved or specced into tanks since Legion because tanks win the open world) are conceptually intended to be those extremely solo-unfriendly specs. Also, glass cannons are in a similar but different boat. Once you go tank you never… ok that’s not going to rhyme but there’s a ridiculous disparity in soloing capability that follower dungeons are a wonderful escape from.

That all said, as a temporary rollout precaution, this is temporarily fine, and I say this as someone who will likely hit this limit a non-zero number of times as I rotate fullly-heirloomed alts consuming their rest Xp before tagging out.

Not to mention the amount of time it takes to run 10 of these is pretty substantial. If you aren’t a tank you are stuck at the pace of the NPCs so it’s not like you can speed clear them so really your plan had to be to spend over 5 hours per day inside follower dungeons for this to affect you at all.

What nonsense is this? What is the problem with someone running 100 dungeons in one day. Isn’t the point to learn how to play?

If you’re concerned about bots, (a) disable XP in them, or (b) just leave it open slather as catnip for the bots and ban them based on their activity.

Wut? Healers are great at soloing, they never die lol.

And neither do their single-pulled targets.

They do if you actually attack them lol.

So you heal them to death?

Yes, healers don’t have attack spells.

Most healers do pretty solid single target DPS, comparable to that of some DPS outside of their cooldowns. Some even have offensive cooldowns of their own like apotheosis and melee wings to help increase their damage. Acting like healers can’t solo in this day and age is pretty silly.

no you’re not. you can take the lead in the follower dungeons if you want or you can let the AI lead. I had done both on the PTR.

How do you take the lead if you’re not tanking? Do you just run at stuff and they’re forced to charge after you?

Pull all the things!

Ppl will be sad to find they won’t get loot from every boss.

are you suggesting my plan was a bad one?

I intentionally used the word “comparatively.”

A guardian Druid and a restoration shaman are playing vastly different games alone in the open world. The shaman is getting by, but the Druid is winning.

At least when I ran them on PTR I would initiate the pull then the tank would do their stuff. At least from I saw the AI seems pretty decent. they had no issue peeling the threat off me

Yes but you couldn’t for instance run ahead and jump of the balcony down to leymore while they’re tanking the flowers in the first room, no?

So at the end of the day pace of the run is still on the capabilities of the NPC tank.

that might work? would love to see it. Mobs die from overhealing
