Follower Dungeons - Initial Daily Limit

I just don’t see the point of follower dungeons.

Gives people like me or new players a place to learn to heal, tank or DPS at my own pace without wasting others time or getting kicked for being bad. Atleast that is how i looked at the system.

Yeah, it’s a little surprising but not entirely unexpected that the followers are basically gray parsing.

Learning, storyline for the zone, quests, slow chill run to get all of that without inconveniencing others.

People were really looking forward to it. It sounded like fun. Fun detected, fun nerfed, as they say.

Hello!
We have made a system which is pretty much useless for most people outside of using it to level.
We are now capping that functionality.

Another useless time sink that could have been spent on world content or balance updates. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m convinced that 90% of the people in this thread have never played another MMORPG.

Are follower dungeons limited to lvl cap at 70 or can i do them on leveling toons?

There are practically no reason to run the follower dungeons more than once anwyays. To see/learn the layout of the dungeon and to do any dungeon quests. That’s it. They give you substantially less exp than running normal dungeons. So much so that grinding mobs in the world is better exp per hour.

Can we get some mods in here to clean some of this ^ up? Holy

If it takes 30 minutes to run one of these and you’re capped at 10 a day, were people really going to spend 5 or more hours just doing follower dungeons per day to the point this restriction affects them?

Seems arbitrary. I’m sure it’s not, but waiting until the Friday before the release week to mention this restriction is…interesting.

Could be bots. Could be that blizzard is anxious about instance server capacity. Could be they’re throttling it initially to test for bugs outside the PTR and limiting the daily account allotment to prevent issues.

I don’t think it matters what the dungeons do or do not have. That’s subjective for the gamers. It does feel odd to limit it. However, I do appreciate the notice and making it transparent that there’s at least a limitation, as opposed to a stealth “hit fix” of sorts.

I have little to no intention of running this content, but I’m empathetic to those who are at least boggled by the change.

Is this the new topic I’m supposed to be angry over?

Grrrrr, I’m soooo ANGRY!! :rage:

You are just now figuring this out lol?

Lol what? I was referring to the fact to the 10 dungeon limit per day.

Which is amusingly ironic, because MMORPGs are massive timesinks to begin with. Now we are sinking time into debating who’s time sink is some how more appropriate than someone else’s.

I don’t understand why you feel it’s killed content.

Here’s what we know.

This is intended to be a story mode where players can experience the story with gimped experience, and at a slower pace, right? And it’s only available for Dragonflight dungeons, of which there are eight normal mode ones. The initial eight. Running them for experience does nothing because the exp is intentionally neutered with the intent of forcing the story aspect of this.

Keeping such in mind, you have two bonus dungeons you can use it on along with the initial eight, per day, if you really love the story and the aesthetic of these dungeons (with zero payoff other than loot). You’re limited to one intentional heroic lockout per day via LFD, which means these are in the same vein. You have one shot at loot off the bosses per day, with an extra 2 runs you can toss in somewhere if you’re really after that one normal mode piece.

The forums are complaining because they see a limit on something and auto-assume this limitation is going to somehow crush their gameplay. It’s not because of the automatic stipulations put in place. You lose nothing, other than an infinite game loop, which would not be really beneficial to you in the first place. People are complaining over nothing.
