Aug no longer truly brings above-par damage to the key. A well-played third DPS will do more for keys that don’t need the Aug for survivability. Which is most keys.
The Aug is definitely worth it when doing higher keys, but I’d rather have a group buff, melee kick, or battle-rez than an Aug in keys under 20 every time.
Yes but that’s just damage. I just compare ebon might to devastation doing more damage.
Yeah therea the extra fort buff I guess if stacked with a priest.
Don’t think primary stat helps tanks be tankier except for BM
Yeah the heal build would be the only reason niche I could see how Aug. Burst aoe healing to help on healer checks without losing too much damage.
So do you think Aug evokers are a hindrance to key progression overall? I’m beginning to feel that people are not wanting to have and Aug/support type class around simply because they’d rather see the big numbers on the meter. Sure big numbers are important to a degree seeing these keys are time, but so are learning mechanics and having a nice balance of tools to use across the group running the key. We do provide a group buff in keys, its just not 100% up time all the time. We have kick, but it sucks, and unfortunately no B-rez. But 90% of the time I see a lot of folks that have good utility failing to use it in keys, they’d rather just brute force it all with DPS and put pressure on the healer and support to keep everyone alive.

This I can agree with. I only pug right now, but have put the breaks on it with the Aug seeing quite a few people just do not understand the value of the class. They’ve gotten use to staring at a meter all these years, and fail to understand the importance of other roles in the group outside DPS. Now, if they suddenly buffed the Aug’s pure DPS output outside of Ebon might, buffing our regular abilities and had us cranking major numbers people would still likely complain.
but season 2 was all about aug. Now it feels balanced kinda.

It’s not a joke, people are that uneducated about the spec and hellbent on seeing the DPS meter peak that they dip out or kick you out if they know you are Aug. You are right though, I see groups pushing 20+ keys with listings asking for an Aug specifically, however folks at this level are usually bright enough to know what the spec does and what it does not.
Aug is only good when other dps in your group is good. Aug by itself is bad, people want spec can carry them…
To be fair, I’m not sure it’s an educated thing per se. Most DPS under a 20 aren’t really worth playing Aug for. If you’re a halfway decent player it’s a strong crapshoot doing a lower key and hoping your DPS can take advantage.
I’d like to think I am decent at what I do, but it all depends on the groups really if I play good or bad as well. If people understand their own spec’s and know the mechanics of the fights, that allows me to do what I need to do rather than help the healer and waste time. But I do come across a lot of players that have no idea what an Aug really does.
They simply don’t know the game. The utility of Aug is beyond useful in all content.
If only more people saw it that way.
They should never made a support spec, it was horrible idea. Everyone knows support class was a mistake who played origina vanila wow

Agreed. Aug is a banger albeit a bit simple currently but still awesome.
I had a feral brick a 19 Atal because I asked for help on my totem on that one boss, while playing my aug.
This druid popped all his CDs, burnt down his totem and proceeded walk up to my aug, while spewing insults on how bad I was, not being able to solo said totem.
When his totem regenerated because I had only gotten mine to half, he just sat there /dancing.
I left that group.
