if you enter a house or cave
The entire zone is a cave. So what constitutes the boundary of a cave is “whatever blizzard wants it to be.”
Thus giving blizzard more freedom to restrict flying.
against a feature that negatively impacts a tiny portion of players
Expansions that restricted flying where way more popular than DF or TWW.
Flying being in the game = boring game.
People like you just want to rush to end game anyway. So stop ruining the leveling experience when you don’t even give a crap about it.
Again, ZM was fine. Good, even.

Gave them the possibility, but yet, they didn’t do this.
Caves are very obvious as to what constitute a cave and what doesn’t. In fact, cave entrances look the same in TWW zones as they do anywhere else.
I have never gotten randomly dismounted and thought “huh, weird…” no, every time I get dismounted, I know I’m going to get dismounted.
Uh, what?
Pretty sure that Wrath and Legion probably tied for #1 favorite. One has flying the other doesn’t. Why is Legion on the favorites? Do you think it’s because of no fly? No, it’s probably the class halls and class lore. People loved that. Also, the artifact weapons.
After Wrath/Legion, MoP ranks pretty highly, despite people dissing “Pandas” and complaining about dailies in the first raid tier, and it had flying from the start.
Dragonflight was also widely praised and it had flying from the start and flying everywhere in its expansion.
TWW has received mostly good press about zone design, and general gameplay. When people complain about TWW it’s usually poor/nonexistant QA and bugs. And it had flying enabled from the start.
What expansions did people not like as much?
Shadowlands. No fly until .1 + grind.
WoD. No Fly until… way later and a long grind.
BfA. No Fly until … I think it was .2? and a long grind.
its a leftover island expedition from bfa. couldn’t fly on those either. trash content.
Then it’s even more useless outrage. Par for the course.
Well…
I DO understand the sudden jarring change between “fly everywhere! we embrace flying now!” to “no fly here until you grind a ring up” and we don’t know what exactly is going to be involved in getting that ring up to that.
it is a little PvP zone why would you need flying?
It’s a small zone!
Seriously, get over it!
Then blizzard should remove the use of mounts and make people walk only. Makes the game more alive right.
It’s contextual. The zone has to actually be designed to get explored, first.
Korthia wasn’t this, nor was the Maw. The Maw was a collective of garbage events you ran to and then hearthed/ported/ran back to Oribos.
I don’t really mind no fly zones that much.
Gotta be honest, as much as I adore skyriding - and I do adore it - ground exploration has its appeal to me as well. I think my favorite expansion for exploration was Legion. Taking on zones like Highmountain and Stormheim on foot were great. And don’t get me started on Suramar.
As it’s been mentioned before, if the zone is designed to be taken on foot, you can make a ground-bound zone amazing. Stormheim had hookshot points you could grapple to, Suramar had Hitman/Assassin’s Creed/MGS stuff, and all the other zones just felt way more interesting exploring on foot.
I feel like there’s definitely a space for both in game. Personally, I would love to see Blizzard do something to make ground travel more interesting. Giving me points to grapple up to or interesting ways to navigate tricky terrain is always neat.
RIP Sirens Isle then. Will be done once and abandoned if no flying. Blizzard never learns ever

Cool, I like grounded zones once in a while. Time for some old fashioned exploration. Tbh it gets kinda tiring spamming spacebar constantly to take off just to fly 3 feet but it’s engrained at this point ridiculous. Like the good ol mop saying goes “sloooow dooooown”
I wish they would increase classic flight speed a bit more. I am not a fan of dragon riding in smaller spaces at all.
Glad I canceled my acc and its only got 3 days left. The war against flying is the dev teams single largest mistake in the games history. good chance I wont be paying any of season 2 if this is the legit.

You know what you’re getting into when you turn on War Mode. That includes the “thrill” of someone dropping in, ganking you and then flying away. If that “thrill” is too much for you, you can do like those of us who don’t like the thrill and just turn off War Mode.
Grappling hooks could work if they’re free-target like the rogue grappling hook and kept the cooldown reasonable (15-20 secs). If they allowed free wall climbing that’d be even better.
you mean like every other piece of gear in the game ?
you can ride a ground mount from one end of teh zone to teh othe rin well under 1 minute. Why on earth do you need to fly
all some of the best zones in the game
if you had problems navigating that area that was a YOU problem - because the routes through there were easy to pick
Me --i really enjoyed that . then again i walk in EVERY quest area . mounting particularly flying in a quest area should be banned. It SHOULD be dangerous , it SHould take time to fight you r way through . Diveboming quests objectives from a flying mount should not be allowed
Are you flybabys ever going to stop whinging
Ignoring that weve had flying since day 1 for the past two expansions.
Siren’s Isle isn’t Season 2, it’s a mini patch.
You’ll be ok. The reasoning for this has already been explained
Funny, I don’t remember anyone complaining about not flying on Thunder Isle or Timeless Isle once they were actually open and live.
My guess is even OP will not be complaining about not flying here once they’re actually playing the content.
Oh, in case it hasn’t been said: the other no-fly islands also had debuffs preventing you from flying, it’s just that they are invisible on the live servers.
Cheers!
True but I think BlizZard is for a rude awakening as the old man needs to be taught the lesson again.
No flying content sucks if they can’t make it interesting. The last time a non flying island was really interesting was TI but that was over ten years ago.
They need to let it go and stop their hatred against flight.
That was over ten years ago and that was the last two well done island no flying zones. Since then it has been garbage.
