Flying will be restricted in patch 11.0.7's new content zone

Why don’t you play the game the way you want to play it? Nobody’s stopping you.

Turn off WM or swap servers to non-PvP if you’re worried about ganks.

The only force that’s preventing your own enjoyment is yourself.

We dont need flying on the isle.

Im for this change. Explore the classic way.

Let me add that as each day passes more and more people join the pro flying crowd. Ironic because ten years ago it was 50/50 give or take.

Guess you missed every expansions since pandaland? there is usually a zone we can’t fly in later in expansions. almost always changes at the end.

Stop flying! You should only be walking or running everywhere.

Agreed it is a choice that people make.

this really needs to be changed. removing flight from the new zone makes me want to not engage with it.

and since there is player power progression tied to this new zone with the ring, i may just end up cancelling my sub altogether.

Rental systems and anti flying?

You do not say.

Let me say that they are having a hard time coming up with easy W’s with TWW expansion so far.

You actually think they would sell a 100 dollar mount for no one to show it off?

Its a fomo move for cool mounts and Im under the impression that there will be other, even cooler mounts from the new isle.

That’s only because I suspect Timeless Isle has secrets that have never been discovered, there’s even an NPC by Celestials that tells you there are. I think its the same with Korthia, the “city of secrets” has at least one more.

Fun fact: The Trader’s Gilded Brutosaur can fly. Just go to mechagon and get a jetpack, activate it and fly as high up as you want and cast Bruto, the jetpack allows you to cast any mount while using it. You will drop like a rock but you will technically be flying for a little bit. (easier as druid as you can just birdform before u hit ground, temp broom mount works too during Halloween event cause its instant cast- have reg flying enabled)

Odds are you’ll never be able to fly there, like a handful other post release zones have been.

Speculation is it is coming around winter veil and 11.1 possibly in Febuary .

So most likely a small zone with filler content to hold us off while they are gone for the holidays .

I’m guessing people can handle being grounded for 1.5 to 2 months until the next major patch and are able to fly again .

If not then they have bigger issues then not being able to fly for a short time.

FR is a part of the larger Dragon Isles continent though.

Maybe but Soulsobreezy tweeted a screenshot of a weekly from the Isle that gives Bronze Celebration Tokens, so it might be out sooner than that.

  • Timeless Isle actually turned out okay without flying.
  • WoD should be mentioned, and that whole debacle was a mess. Pathfinder was the compromise, they never wanted to implement flying for Draenor but eventually caved into players’ demands.
  • Broken Shore… I think most didn’t like it initially, but it wasn’t despised outright. The zone probably became more popular after flying was re-introduced.
  • Nazjatar… yeah, I recall people HATING that zone before flying. BfA was rubbing a lot of people the wrong way already, hard-to-navigate Nazjatar was especially bad.
  • Korthia… honestly, it doesn’t feel so bad (this is me coming back now and missing SL and most of DF) because you can at least mount up. On the other hand, pretty much ANYTHING looks good after not being to mount up at all in the Maw.
  • No comment on Forbidden Reach. I only got to try it after flying was allowed.

Content can be designed around there not being flying.
Whether or not it delivers is a different story. WoW’s track record is spotty.

I don’t have TWW as it is… but if this zone is modeled after Mechagon (as I’ve been hearing), it’s a HARD pass for me. I hated that zone and its content.

I’m 100% pro-flying but I’m actually okay with this too. If the zone is an unused island expedition then it’s likely pretty small. Skyriding doesn’t make a lot of sense to me if that’s the case. You’d be able to get from one end to the other in about 3 seconds.

I don’t like invisible walls to prevent flying. It breaks immersion! Blizzard needs to install laser-guided anti-aircraft batteries that hit every unauthorized flyer no matter how fast they are going.

Bleh… just bleh…

Let’s hope the ring sucks compared to raid rings so we can just skip that no flying trash zone.

Especially compared to the mess that was trying to get around Nazjtar without flight.

Other than over a month of grinding out rep for flight, those were two of the best expansion zones they’ve ever made.
