Flying restriction needs to be removed immediately from Siren Isle

We are long past this. You have done this before in the past and you already know how it goes and what happens. The players despise you for it and reject it overwhelmingly. Remove this debuff and get rid of this restriction before this goes live.

While I do think the lack of flying sucks, the zone itself is extremely small so flying would trivialize it.

The map is a repurposed island expedition. It is extremely small. Flying would mean you cross it in like 1 whirling surge and totally and utterly trivialise any form of traversal or exploration (as tbh, flying already does even in the zones that are built to be big for it!)

Be sensible, please.

I feel somewhat accustomed to having the patch zones be ground mounts only. NBD, especially if the zone has a unique traversal mechanic and is on the smaller size.

How small is it compared to Forbidden Reach? Like one-third?

Blizz, you’re smarter than this. You’ve tried this before and we’ve hated you for it every time you’ve done it. Whatever you think will make up for it, won’t. Whatever you think you can give us to make us okay with this will fail. Do not take a Taivan sized… pinecone… on what has otherwise been a great expansion.

You’ll live.

For reference, furthest east to west took 53 seconds on a ground mount.

Furthest possible north to south took 59 seconds.

Most activities don’t take place on the absolute edge of the zone, they’re condensed into the centre.

It is simply not a problem.

Travel time is really only part of the equation. Some of us actually just thoroughly enjoy dynamic flying as a mode of transportation and find ground mounts boring and annoying.

It bears noting here that the ability to fly doesn’t force anyone to do so. Anyone who prefers ground mounts in the smaller zone is more than welcome to use them. However, if you argue that the option to fly is so compelling that if you can fly then you must fly, then you admit by definition that not having flying is a very significant downgrade.

Sounds underwhelming to “free the stormcrow from its bonds” on this isle, yet you can’t fly with that freed stormcrow on the same island.

We’ll be there for like 6-8 weeks tops, and the island is small/dense. A brief change of pace isn’t that harsh.

I’m not completely against a grounded zone, but this…

…does make it seem like a very puzzling decision, requiring a bit of cognitive dissonance to fully accept.

Perhaps flight should be unlocked upon freeing this mount however it is earned? The excuse could be the weather was made too severe by its imprisonment. Also would be a different change of pace from the typical zone meta, maybe.

Honestly i’m fine with it, Flying is something that should be gotten after everything is done so that way you can just get from point A to point B.

Most people seem to have forgotten the whole reason we even got flying in the first place was because the first iteration of flightpaths were awful and not speedy at all so they gave us flying mounts as a in between while they worked on fixing the flightpath system which they have now but of course by the time they have done that everyone is just so used to flying that it feels wrong to remove it.

This is a tiny keyword here TINY island so flying isn’t needed but of course people will QQ about anything given the chance so it’s fine that we have to go on foot.

Maan I hope the ring ends up being crappy. Id like to skip this entirely tbh. Forbidden reach was boring and forgettable content but forbidden reach 2.0 sounds even worse.

Knowing them though one or two of the gems will be extremely overtuned for a week or two, because they ignored all ptr feedback, and then everything will be nerfed so hard that the ring wont be able to compete with BIS stat rings with 2 sockets. I might unsub for a month, save the 20 dollars, and just wait for that part tbh, skip the BS.

Not looking forward to this content tbh.

The PTR forums are about constructive feedback and not about attacking players. Stay on topic.

I have to concur in that the decision seems very peculiar but I think this zone is meant as a mini content patch for a month tops. Which makes the zone one and done which is a shame because that destroy the replay value of the zone if you can not fly at all.

I think the ring is going to cause a bigger backlash than no flying on a tiny zone IMVHO. However, the fact that there is more borrowed power with the ring which feels pointless and then a flying restriction makes this content dead on arrival from my view.

BlizZard has a hard time coming up with easy wins when it is right in front of them.

I agree. Flying needs to be allowed in the new zone

I just find the in game reason they are using absurd. A creature that can generate lift and thrust is going to have a much better time of it than us hanging on a rock by a rope. We should be swinging around like a pendulum and smacking into the cliffs if the winds are so bad our mounts can’t overcome them.

What’s going to happen is the people who seem to live on the forums will cry and complain incessantly until what’s left of blizz gives into their petulance. Personally I’d rather see the game get smoothed out instead of being flooded with content that only exists to keep the simple minded subbed. Like blunderstorm for example, the time / resources put into that could be used to solve the problems they let the game launch with.

That is what the Experimental Go-Pack is for. Yeah it’s not a mount but you get around the area in the air a lot quicker.

Size wise this is nonsensical. Horrible idea just because you don’t actually want to play the game. Flying makes sense when the world is large and connected but for isolated tiny zones it is not.
