Flying restriction needs to be removed immediately from Siren Isle

So use your ground mount. That’s the thing, absolutely nothing stops you from having a brief change of pace of your own volition. If that’s how you want to play the game, literally nothing stops you from doing so right now or in the future. However, if not flying is such a significant inconvenience that you can’t bring yourself to take that option, then it’s a significant enough inconvenience that flying should not be taken away.

Trust me more and more new people are joining the TBC/DR crusade each day. I watch from the sidelines in awe.

All because BlizZard wants to be a bully over and over again on the flying issue.

Island is smaller than Mechagon and there are many grappling hooks for verticality, i think no flying is fine in this case. It feels cramped enough without flying.

Honestly I do not see many people doing this “content”.

NO flying and a borrowed power ring = Disaster unfolding before our eyes.

I have my popcorn ready but my feedback is they need to re-think a lot of things with this patch.

Siren Isle is likely quite small. It was created 2 expansions before dragonriding existed.

But it would certainly be nice to unlock regular flying there within a few weeks. Otherwise I’ll have to keep warmode off when visiting the island.

“I want to be able to explore the isle from the ground first and it’s so small it’s fine!”

That’s wonderful. Then you can be on your ground mount and traverse the island quickly and everyone else can be on their flying mount traversing the way they want to and nobody is forced to do something they don’t want to do. Why is this so hard for some of you?

The perfectly sensible way to look at that is that the map is incredibly small, travel across this map isn’t masquerading as content, so there’s literally no sensible reason to restrict how people move around on this island anyway. Who cares if someone ground mounts to a rare in 10 seconds, or flies to it in 2?

There’s no real positive value to a ground mount restriction even if you try and use the defense of the zone being tiny. The only actual attitude that betrays is how small the negative is.

Never mind of course that the entire theme of the island and its mount with a Stormcrow falls flat when said Stormcrow is freed by us, but bound by the game’s rules to chicken-run across the island instead of actually freely fly around.

Probably a lot sooner, unlocking flying is tied to the questline with the ring.

Small map yes but if it is Forbidden reach 2.0 then yes you should be able to fly. The rental power of the ring is more concerning, because is this dropping in the middle of a season?

Ouch.

After playing around and exploring the island a bunch, with how small it is, I really feel like the rocket launchers are a good alternative. You’re propelled fairly high up and can rocket jump to a location to mount, they’re very cheap to get (costs 10 Blessed Iron for one, after ~2h of exploring I had 3k Iron) and last for 1h. Personally I didn’t really have a moment where I thought “man this sucks I’d rather be able to fly”, then again I like exploring :stuck_out_tongue: was very, very far from “being stuck on the ground” as other people have been claiming.

The island is extremely small, there needs to be some level of exploration. As it is, you’d be able to cross from one side to the other in one Whirling Surge.

I don’t really mind flying and I won’t be particularly sad if they change their minds and allow flying, but skyriding especially will feel very overkill. I’m sure a lot of the people complaining here would actually start complaining they’re missing objectives because they’re constantly overshooting them.

I dont care how small the zone is, it could literally be the size of a store in dornogal. I want to use dynamic flight in the siren isles

What’s interesting about this is the buff name clearly points to the stormcrow mount as well. Do we know if the mount is unlocked by the ring’s questline?

Not gonna lie, I’d be incredibly shocked if my idea about that turned out to be what they’d already went with. :joy:

Stormcrow mount is unlocked by completing a special ritual available during the storm phase in Siren Isle - You need to collect 5 runes (we’re currently compiling the sources) and bring it to a chamber where its corpse can be found at, while a storm is going on

We don’t know much more besides that at the moment

Indeed people are tired of the gimmicks they shoe horn in. This is why I think this patch is going to go down like a lead balloon with the greater player base.

I never got the ‘can’t fly, unplayable’ vibe. It just means you won’t clear the zone in half a second.

As argument that’s been defeated hundreds of times? Check.

Using that argument means you literally have no clue how the game works.

It’s a filler patch. Thanks to the anniversary being bigger this year(which people keep thinking is the filler patch) makes the filler even less mandatory

Forbidden reach dropped in the middle of a season(technically 2/3 but so will this). They at least said the ring is intended to last through much of s2

You dont speak for everyone, I dont mind it. Ground mounts are totally fine.

For the people that want to use ground mounts, go for it. Just because you want to move at a snail’s pace doesn’t mean the rest of us should be forced to.
