You must’ve not been here for the WoD sht show when they talked about no flying. Take a guess what happened, sub count plummeted.
Time will tell. I expect DF to break sales records, we will see who is right.
Well it’ll have flying so I don’t see why it wouldn’t, it looks interesting. No borrowed power or covenant like systems is enough for me to buy.
Dragon riding isn’t flying.
I wholeheartedly agree. The game always should’ve remained as boots on the ground. Imagine what flying would’ve done to EverQuest, or phantasy star online.
We don’t need flying, and I’ll use “We” since you proflyers use “Us”.
Except the game had already lost the majority of it’s players it was going to lose at 2.9 million when their Q1 2015 report came out around May 6th and May 7th. Ion’s announcement that flying would not be reintroduced in WoD or future Xpacs didn’t come till May 24th or 25th.
So the narrative of sub count plummeting due to flight, and not the content drought that was the more prevalent issue is just a fabricated narrative used to try and justify why flying should be in every xpac and zone of the game.
If you want flying, fine, but don’t try to acting like that was the sole reason subs plummeted in a three month time span of Q1 when at the time they’d not even announced that there would never be flying in WoD or future xpacs.
Hello crime stoppers? Yes, I’d like to report a murder.
I disagree, they need to think outside the box without having to take something away from the players.
Dragonriding is a great compromise to that. If you want to keep people from flying all the time then lets utilize some realism for immersion effect and give our mounts abilities/stamina so that we can interact with our in game enviornment, make it fun.
I think they’re in the right direction and hopefully they’ll make it better then those MMOs who have already.
I didn’t even know this! Let 'em know
A drastically superior dominant strategy will always be impossible to mentally avoid when doing tasks. More cognition will be used avoiding the dominant strategy than taking in the experience as one intends.
I’d at least like the option to un-train flying, and for flight training to not be mandatory for quests. I only got flight training on my monk when it was mandatory for an important quest. The quest didn’t even necessarily require actually flying, just that one had flight training purchased.
I’m still salty about that.
Gets on sarcastic box
I find it’s better not to use cars you don’t get to enjoy the scenery . It’s better to take your bike and get exercise the medical professionals agree with me. So get off your fat lazy butts and if I had anything to say about it I get rid of all the cars.
Gets off sarcastic box’s and walks away
You attempts at “deductive reasoning” are almost as ridiculous as your “well I liked it so I’m for sure in the majority” mentality. “there it is lol”. I’m sure you’re a very well adjusted adult not living in your parent’s basement.
Flying is the glue that holds open world WoW together.
The improvement of flight paths and flight toys failed. The new flight system has to be proper copied from GW to succeed or that too will fail.
Q2 2015’s monthly details disagrees with you.
Nothing else happened in those 19 days.
WoW always loses subs, but they slowed from 1million per month to around 33k once they made their lame public mea culpa about how they didn’t realize flying was so important to the player base and ok ok ok we’ll keep flying. Even though everyone had made it clear on the Forums for 18 straight months at that point.
MMO’s shouldn’t have flying
Fight me
Just don’t fly you’ll be okay
Good thing it isn’t up to you.
World PvP bas been dead for over a decade. Nobody enjoys it except a handful of sociopaths.
Flying doesn’t hurt immersion. All it does is increase time played because we have to travel so much more slowly. Once added in TBC it should have been maintained, not a per-expansion unlock. Double unlocks this expansion plus a max level zone where we can’t fly just shows that the WoW devs are more worried about time played than valuing our game time.
I hope Microsoft shifts their outdated thinking and focuses more on making the game fun.
Ion just won’t give up. Dragon riding isn’t flying, you won’t be able to hover. I guess he wants to break the old record he set in wod, the most subscriptions lost in a 3 month period, over 5 millions quit never to return.
Oh wait there aren’t enough subscribers left to break that record…
Good luck on that new achievement Ion.
I for one would like flying
How? Q2 report came out in August, and flying didn’t become avabile till September
So how does a slowdown in players unsubscribing equate to the flying announcement and retraction being a thing; when in that same quarter the first actual content patch was also announced (By which I mean had actual playable content in it).
Edit: Because someone pointed out I had confused my self with when the announcement was made, and the actual month flying got into the game.
