Flying is 'at a nice middle ground'

top layer = the sky
middle ground = the road
under layer = a cave/underground
don’t you understand?

I just unsubbed, ain’t goin anywhere else, and it feels good too…

I don’t patron business that give me the runaround, or drop excuses, or simply ignore feedback that could improve the game for everyone.

When I realized the difference in time frame from Legion to BFA and PF being released… I realized that I was getting the shaft.

Well consider Blizzard’s preferred solution was no flying. I would say pathfinder flying is the middle ground.

Possibly the issue is that the players dictating the game to the developers, has led the game down a hole of declining subs, mediocre content, and skippable areas. Maybe we go back to the days when a game died completely if it was bad, or soared if it was good, instead of pandering to instant gratification.

You don’t treasure an easy win.

No just the ones that are making this decision and saying this is some sort of compromise. They can’t really believe that anyone would consider this a compromise so that means they think people are stupid enough to believe their spiels, which seem to change annually btw, about why flying is bad.

That makes them stupid, plus their unwillingness to admit/see how much it is costing them. And last time I looked I am not a teenager.

I think of pathfinder as a fix to a issue they created. I have not really engaged with the world more since pathfinder, I have spent more time questing. But it was not more time having fun. I think it has been the other way around. Spent more time board and annoyed with the game.

I also see so many loading screens, and on flight points. When i am on the ground its a strait line to another quest i wish i never had to do.

The people who miss flying the most are the people who DID engage constantly in the world. It is the people who mostly play in instances who want to skip everything in the world content, and continue to try and do so - aka make rep account wide, complaining about allied reps, etc.

You are talking about people who had to walk everywhere for 40 lvls and liked it. Not everyone wants to play classic crap and making this game more like classic to attract a few 100k people is going to back fire on them.

Ion is just gradually destroying this entire game.

The XPac that they started doing pathfinder, Is the same Xpac i started to hate doing stuff out in the world.
Every zone feels soo samey, quests pull you along the whole way. Even going back i think its worse now, like they have a formula for the quests and really not much away from that.
Just follow along, when its done you can now explore the like 2 places left, If your lucky there will be a quest or two to do. Or a special thing to kill That is like everything else you have killed there.
Yay…

You know what gets me engaged in the world? MoP world design. Flying isn’t restricted. Mobs have a very high drop rate for meat or cloth depending on mob type, reasonably priced green gear, silver and gold, vendor trash, in some cases reputation. And the rares drop BoE epic gear, twink rare gear, rep tokens, goody bags chock full of mats, depending on type.

Pathfinder expansion mobs drop a pittance of silver, vendor trash, extremely low drop rate gear. Other than WoD where rares and treasures gave meaningful XP, interesting gear or cosmetics, and chances for mounts Pathfinder expansion rares give a pittance of grind currency and little else.

Also, the game no longer has a persistent world with: Warmode, CRZ, massive phasing, and extensive use of instanced content including all the latest content zones.

When I say I’m eating your entire lunch, but only eat half your lunch, that isn’t a compromise. It’s still me eating your lunch. Which I have no business doing, in the first place.

There’s too much to bother with but I disagree with your entire post.

Ion says a lot of things. Most of which consists of empty platitudes, misdirection and plausible deniability.

It’s really not at all, especially in the last 3 expansions.

And Thursday’s most left field analogy award goes to…

If it was “do the things then fly”, it would be a compromise. Instead, it’s “do the things and wait til the expac is basically over”.

Their argument was that we didn’t see their content. If I have met the criteria of PF, I have now seen the content, but here I am, 8 months later with the flying patch not even on the PTR server. This isn’t a compromise, it’s a passive aggressive way of being able to say “technically you DID have flying in BfA zones while it was the current expac!” while still keeping us grounded. [Edit; If they’re worried about us flying and skipping the X.2 content, make PF2 the unlocking of flight specifically for that new area. Mainland flight should not be this far out from launch.]

WoD saw a massive sub drop that I’m not convinced they recovered from. Legion’s outdoor population EXPLODED (at least on my server) when flying was finally activated. And we’re still trying to fight the cement-headed devs now in BfA. I’d say that makes it important.

I just want to know where my mounted combat is?? You know, the thing advertised on the WotLK game box?

Instead of innovating and improving the system, they decided to regress and commit to false-advertising.

For you. Not for me.

Just think of how many MAU they could add to the time played metric if we had mounts that we could equip gear and weapons on! We could have ground mounts with artillary for sieging cities, glaive throwers , catapults etc… Already in the game. We could have choppers and jets with rocket launchers

That’s just because everyone was so used to flying they didn’t take into consideration at the time that the new xpacs are designed where flying is not needed, especially bfa and legion with 5min cd flight whistles and portals on later content zones like argus.

It’s important to keep some subs but not important gameplay wise at all like it was in bc to mop.
