Flying was a problem the moment they introduced it in TBC. Sure it’s convenient. Did it make the game better? By reducing player interactions? In an MMO?
They realised their mistake waaay too late, in Warlords. There was no going back then, there is no going back now, especially considering that every zone nowadays is designed with flying in mind. I wouldn’t mind a phase option where you can’t fly in return for better rewards, à la War Mode. One can dream.

honestly…i did the campaign quests leveling my
main…
and by the time that was done i had only a few
more extraneous achievements to cover to
get traditional flight…
my issue is with “the button”…i would much rather hot key two types of mounts…
a glider for speed and distance…and a traditional for local and punctuated flight.
Pathfinder unlocks once campaign is complete.
