Can no longer use regular flasks in unrated random battlegrounds as of today. Presumably it is a bug. If you are flasked when you take the queue it is getting removed. In the BG you get an error message that says “You can’t do that in abattleground.” It appears the pvp specific flasks are actually still working, which is disappointing as a healer pvp flask is simply awful.
I hope they revert this hotfix mess up

Nope. Played today and it wouldn’t allow me to use it. Drank it outside of the BG and then on entering Arathi it was removed

Oh? Is your source trust me bro? It seems like an arbitrary change if it was purposeful. What else will they start restricting from unrated BGs? Are we going to lose things we take for granted like gliders? I don’t like the direction that could go in.
Also I’m sick of these unannounce changes being made to the game. The monk port disabled with orb/flag was intended but they never said a word or put it in a patch note. Having to speculate if these things are actually bugs or not is ridiculous.
Hopefully. And toys too.
There is no reason to take away flasks. Flasks are available to all and is a part of the game. I’m strictly a pvper and an alchemist and I want to use my darn flasks. Bad move if its intentional.
Just another feature taken away from pvpers. Won’t be long before we only have 4 buttons to press: Attack Defend Heal and Flee
Not sure I disagree with the exclusion of Flasks in BGs. The Mastery flask was helping a few specs hit player enemies hard enough to have Nerf this Spec forum posts poping up. Maybe there is a Crit flask too, if there is I should have been using it, but now I don’t need to buy it.

There is also Algari Mana Oil which will bump your crit/haste.

You can still use Phial of Elemental Chaos. The secondary stat buff is a little lower but the bonus effects are still nice. The secondary stat buff is actually much higher than the tooltip states. Also those are much less expensive.
There’s also the issue of invalidating the current worth of these flasks for people that pvp. 3 star flasks were not cheap. If you have a lot of them in your bags that is a lot of gold put to waste.
The idea that you can do other content with these flasks but you will lose/waste them when you enter a bg is off putting. It will discourage people from flasking for stuff between queues.
A little heads up before implementing this would have saved people a lot of gold on flasks that are now greyed out and give error messages in BGs. I’ll probably use flasks from older content if they still work because almost anything is better than the pvp honor flasks for healers. At least until blizzard disables those.
Maybe blizz was upset that people are using stuff other than those terrible honor flasks. Granted wrecking ball is actually decent for dps.
Who knows what anything Blizzard does these days. The CS forums would have you believe they listen and care but that is a comedy club minus the comedy over there.
Those flasks aren’t terrible at all. We all know how valuable honor to gold is.
Weapon oils do work, as do augment runes.

You didn’t really need 3-star flasks. 1 or 2 stars was enough to help you out if you were in last season’s gear or fresh 80. It’s also not a lot of gold nowadays. It’s cheaper than flasks used to be compared to how much gold you could make in a day.
But if they disabled them, that’s that. Will make some of the pvp flasks.
