Flasks and GDKPs

Yep! Another flask topic. Are they expensive? Yes. A few ideas that could help lower the prices:

  1. Allow Flasks to proc multiple flasks when created like SoD, TBC, etc.

  2. When picking certain herbs there is a chance for lotus to be plucked as well. Similar to Fel Lotus in TBC.

  3. Hire GMs to actively look for bots, hackers, cheaters, etc that are under the world map. There are several videos across the internet that display this. I’d share a link but it’s not allowing me to post when I copy said link.

  4. All the options above or a mix and match of them.

The 5th option is unbanning GDKPs. I say this because prices are high for items other than black lotus and flasks, such as materials for Lion Hearts Helmet. As of now, bots are posting the items they get through botting on the AH and getting people to buy them. Then gold buyers end up buying gold from these same bots who then buy items on the AH which were posted by the bots previously mentioned, thus creating a vicious cycle of bots increasing gold selling and gold buyers buying whatever they want. With the GDKPs, there is a distribution of gold amongst the players in the raid and allows their toons not in the GDKPs to buy consumes for their main guild raid. There are other benefits to GDKPs, but this is a black lotus/flask related post and I’m sticking to that.

Either way, I hope these ideas can help or people build upon them to help solve the issue.

  • All herbs BoP.
  • All flasks and elixirs BoP.
  • Alchemy and herbalism moved to secondary professions.
  • All herb nodes in the world are instanced per player.

If you want consumes, you’ll have to go farm them yourself.

Flasks will be needed in BWL, AQ40 and Naxx for guilds that stuggle. Also, it’s part of the game, people enjoy flasking to do damage or speed run. They shouldn’t be penalized because of botters, nor anyone. Everyone should enjoy the game in their own way =)

Weird, I didn’t erase or edit the 4 other options before mentioning the fifth option being the gdkp option. I wonder if the forums are bugged for you to only see the GDKP poriton of the 5 options I gave?

Anniversary players wanted this and will be off to TBC before they know it anyways.

Please don’t nerf the game.

GDKP half solves a lot of the problems on fresh right now. Redistributing the gold that’s farmed by bots and sold through RMT helps the average player. It incentivizes people to roll healer alts to make money. I host pug raids and it’s ALWAYS healers that you need the most.
On era servers every single warrior has a healer alt to make money in GDKP which makes the overall server class balance very healthy. GDKP = more raids & more loot for everyone + more affordable consumes.
People have a bad taste in their mouth for GDKP because of SOD but it’s a loot system that has been working great on era for years.
