And FF14 is still infested with bots.
Iâve only seen 2-3 bots during my whole time as a new player in FF14 during the big boom in popularity (Im on Balmung) and I legit saw one get poofed out of existance in Ulâdah as he was using /say to advertise his RMT website.
The restrictions they have on the free accounts is pretty much to stop botters and RMT as they cannot offload their items or gold.
They have limited bag space, no retainers (bank system) , they cannot use public channels except /say and /party. They cannot send /tell (Whispers) to players or respond to them. And with players being vigilant and reporting RMT, they get banned pretty fast as long as 1 GM is online looking at reports.
Seeing a bot get poofed out of existance is so much better than the little fake mail we get from Blizz that people have proven to be fake and BS.
the economy already sucks with AH bots auto sniping and selling all mats for extreme prices for no reason other than phased content purposely making us play the game on raid Tier at a time to keep us subscribed for longer. the higher the prices, the more people have to farm, the more they play the game. Iâm sure youâre on the profit side of these subs else you wouldnât say such things.
Thereâs been a group of 8 mages teleporting around in South Shroud for a long time, we report every time we go by, but theyâre still there, weeks later.
Square is really good about banning RMT sellers it seems, but they still suck at actual bots. The sentiment in the community about bots is nearly the same as here, not enough is done.
Hell, even their announcements barely have botting activity bans.
Ya at this point I kinda agree. Itâs all an issue, but players making a few gold off an exploit that was pointed out to Blizzard in ptr isnât a huge deal to me. Iâd say 1 day bans or less.
Obviously thousands of gold is different, but the fact gold buyers get off easier is just not right.
No you donât. You know people that have told you they had no previous problems on their account. There is a difference.
All I can think of is âgrooooossssssssâ
I wouldnât want to touch shower curtains that just hang half-moist all day long in a schoolâŚ
/shudder
HAâŚHAHAHAHAHAHâŚomg stopâŚHAHAHAHAHA
So was everyone who got a flask without shards banned? I mean if i had been on early enough in the day I probably would have done that quest and picked up the flask without even noticing it needed something I did not have, like click gear icon â quest window open â choose flask/complete, lot of the times i donât bother to read the quest text when trying to bang out a bunch of quests, so I really hope it was for those who were actively exploiting the bug.
No, they generally donât ban someone who did something once or even a time or two.
They banned people who literally spammed it to print gold.
There are always false positives, and there are cases of people getting banned for making a few gold without realizing it.
I did say generally.
And no one with any common sense thought making even a few gold off this this was ok.
Nah, I grabbed one flask for the quest, didnât even notice it didnât cost shards, my account is fine.
You had to do more.
hard to know the truth, some people are saying they bought a couple and received bans.
I think if you bought and then sold it to a vendor it would probably have been picked up by the automated system or something, I very much doubt a blizzard GM is sitting there actually banning people by hand
Script probably has a certain limit on it. And we donât know the full history of peoples bans so when they come in and say âi got banned for 180 days but iâve never been banned before!â itâs always questionable.
It would be cool if I could actually advance the Ogriâla questline.
You think you dont, but you do.
Yeah, on Reddit.
Meanwhile they donât mind thousands of bots printing gold since the launch of classicâŚ
Iâm out of the loop what was this flask exploit? They do deserve some time but itâs hard to say how much depending on a case by case scenario and how badly it was abused by each individual.
