Flagging is NOT a downvote button!

i’m not even sure what would make you think this…
it would make the system completely pointless.
the entire point of flagging, is to alert moderators that there is a post which needs their attention.

or they could have just switched posting characters since you aren’t restricted to one character for your trust level now (if you are flagged for beta anyway).

Seems reasonable and provides a good argument against abusing the flag button.

I have flagged it as expected.

Well, I didn’t piddle in your Cheerios, so you can move on now. Time for you and your sidekick to be angry at someone else.

If you aren’t flagging you aren’t trying… got it!

hmm

Well, let’s put it to the test, everyone like OP’s comment.

ew there are some things I just won’t do in the name of science.

There really is no need to argue on these forums. We all come here because of common interests, we’re all probably a lot alike. Besides, fighting and arguing takes too much time and energy.

LOL!

There’s nothing to test. This thread had 10 likes when it was flagged and now has 31 since. I’ve already explained how it works. Likes have nothing to do with it.

A flag is a report. Two to three reports gets it hidden. A mod has to review it in order for it to be reinstated. That’s all there is to it.

We’ll see. We just need to get the likes to about a hundred or so, I’m certain of it! :+1:

There’s nothing see, Kitt. Even the automated message tells you that’s how it works.

I’d rather people like it because they agree with the abuse to the system and want to see changes, not for an experiment. Hehe.

But science… :worried:

I literally made a thread a few weeks ago requesting that downvotes be brought back because people were just using the flag system as a way to downvote…

The thread was flagged and removed. Its like peak irony.

This one may get deleted due to how it devolved some for a bit, but I suppose we’ll see. Perhaps I should change it to just a discussion about how to fix the reporting system.

Offensive, trolling, ect … these are subjective terms. So, anyone can be offended by anything and therefore has the right to click the flag button. Welcome to the world of snowflakes. Have a seat … oh wait don’t. You might make someone upset by doing so.

Yeah, that’s what Kaurmine was talking about at the beginning of the thread, too. The options are quite vague and don’t really reflect the CoC that well. With how vague they are, someone asking about a quest could offend someone else.

awww that face… YOU’RE MAKIN MY LIP QUIVER OVER HERE!!

this is the notification you get when a post is flagged

“hidden and awaiting review”.

people can still :blue_heart: it in the meantime, but it won’t remove the flag

(and i’ve just noticed that the system message has an option to :blue_heart: it)

Yah. The problem is that, as a society, we are divisively split on what constitutes good conduct. A CoC used to be regulated by the community that outlines the guidelines. Basically “Be cool” , and the majority of people understood what that meant and abide by it. Now there are two main groups, in every community, that butt heads so hard there’s no way to come up with a set of rules/regs that make more than 1/2 of a community happy and REALLY p.o. the rest of it. And with such a split the only answer is to make hard rules to follow. But they can’t do that b/c, again, they loose 1/2 the community that way. If you ask me this is on the people not the company cause their hands are literally tied by us.
