I did.
Let people who want to use ML… use ML (with a 100% guild restriction, not a fan of WoD ML). Let those who want to use PL… use PL.
They both have problems. They both fix problems. It’s up to the player to determine which problems they’d like to deal with, and which ones they want fixed.
I don’t think that ML needs to come back, but it would be great if you could trade ilvl “upgrades” in 100% guild groups.

More like they went to great lengths to reduce their ticket volume of loot disputes over “ninjas.”
I’d be fine with that as well, although it does make it really annoying to do. Was easier to just have a LM with a EP/GP or loot council to send out the gear as they saw fit.
But that’s just a minor gripe I’d have with that system.
People always say that, and I’d be completely behind that line of reasoning in WoD. Back when WoD could be used in full pug pre-mades. The combination of complete anonymity, hundreds of faceless players at PuG leaders finger tips, and minimal risk of repercussions culminated in the ideal breeding ground for scummy actions. Had multiple pieces “ninja’d” by pug RLs in WoD via the MS>OS loot rule debacle. You’d complain and they’d say: My stuff > Our stuff. See I told you the rules! LoL!
But in Legion? You had to join a guild run in order to even use ML. At that point… you’re in their run. If you’re joining a guild, you go by their rules. And even if it was still a big problem then via scummy guilds duping pugs out of loot… That’s fixed by requiring 100% guildies to use ML. At that point, you’ve literally joined their guild… At some point you have to take accountability for your actions.

I enjoy dealing with a 1-5% weekly droprate on all the items i need because with personal loot they have to account for loot trading.
Sucks that I’m not in a big guild raiding with 19 other people I know which will consistently funnel me items. Guess if I want to be competitive in wow I need to pay for a funnel with gold to have a chance at getting my item within the duration of an entire patch.
I would go with a system where a guild can buy unlock trade tokens like bonus rolls, one to two max per week in the 100k gold range. And every player will get one unlock token per week with max of 1.
If the player and guild both agree they can unlock the trade restriction on a piece of gear. Guild can only do it a couple times a week and never to the same player more than once a week.
not perfect but it does allow a guild to fix one or two situations a week where there’s a really nice upgrade going to waste because it’s not good for the person that got it while being an iLvl upgrade ( Which I think happens a lot less than people claim )
The one problem where this could still be strong armed is guild leaders systematically benching people that have used their once a week unlock.
here’s what they should do
make loot freely tradeable, no restrictions other than - only between guild members
(I’m mostly joking. but…)
I think we should get ML back for guilds. I know we won’t but it would be best. Legion’s set up was the best we’ve had. forced pl for pugs, ml available for guilds.
if you don’t like how a guild handles their loot, the door is over there -->

If people were honest and never took look that wasn’t there then it wouldnt be a issue but those who pug continously were robed my guilds, or “Trial guild members being robed”
Treat people fairly and things like this don’t happen.
