Considering it doesn’t give gear, Torghast should really be hitting harder on skill checks than gear checks. And considering its supposed to be something solo players can do, what gear checks it does have should be tuned with that in mind.
Typical Blizzard ruining a fun part of the game and turning it into a chore. This change makes it feel like I’m still playing BFA.
Thanks Blizzard. I’ll just ignore that content completely.
Because more soul ash is required, it’s a 5200 soul req for the 235.
It’s the content there to provide our most powerful pieces of equipment. Why would it just stay easy
The lower levels aren’t much of an challenge.
No, we just look at it and go, “well time to get better a guess”
The problem IS the bosses
Why tune anything up at all
The hard enrages on floor bosses have placed them outside of the gearing window of this patch entirely. Play a healer or a tank and even in full mythic gear some of the bosses this week (not the end of run bosses, the -floor- bosses, require dps that won’t be possible for a lot of specs arbitrarily, just because of how tuning is. Good luck finishing as a holy priest, a protection warrior, or a blood death knight. It’s not just support roles either. This isn’t challenge mode. By all means, gate the cosmetics behind this sort of ‘fun’, but don’t hold alts hostage with this. Do not hold legendary powers and player progression behind this.
That’s because the solution to that was to tune down the bosses, not tune up the mobs (at least for certain classes).
I’m sorry, are there people at 220+ ilvl struggling with it?
Because of gear checks, and skill checks. We’ve been over this.
Nobody is being halted by the later layers being difficult. There are many lower level layers to get your ash from to get legendaries, you don’t need to do the hardest if you aren’t ready for them.
Stop pretending like you NEED to be able to complete the higher layers.
Torghast is the terrible. By far the worst and most unfun part of this expansion.
Last week I did both level 6s on my Guardian Druid. They were long runs, a couple deaths on one of the final bosses, but it got done.
This week, after reading about the buffs, I decided to not be greedy and go into level 4. I got completely and utterly wrecked.
The way the fundamentals of your character experience can change in a day because of the developers’ whims really takes you out of the game. Nothing in this game matters - the devs have put themselves front and center, and are constantly reminding us that any experience we have in-game is something they either hand us, or something they take away.
In a good game, I would never think about what’s happening with development.
How many people do you know at 220+ ilvl right now?
You eventually will, which is the issue. And people who don’t raid or don’t push Mythic keys won’t be able to keep doing Torghast.
Is the purpose of this GAME. Game being the key word.
For so long the forums were flooded with post about how this game was too easy and boring. Well, now you have a challenge to overcome, and many of us like the fact the game is not a faceroll anymore. Its also the very beginning of the expansion, has it even been out a month yet?
Adapt or
I guess we just disagree. I’m glad they erred on the side of more difficult though because if they tuned it down to satisfy the whiners then people who enjoy the challenge get hosed.
As it stands those struggling can get gear or read some guides or try different strategies, all of which will improve your outcomes and your enjoyment. In short gear and experience will “nerf” the content.
If they had instead tuned it too low then people who wanted the challenge would never get that.
We will be when we gear up from this patch, because as I’ve said, Torghast has gear checks, and the guy I responded to said with this patches gear it wouldn’t be able to be beaten. When the majority of players are 20-30 ilvls below where people will end up a few weeks from now.
No, no you won’t. The upper layers are purely optional and nothing we’ve seen indicates otherwise.
Yes they will, they just won’t be able to complete higher layers, not until later when the natural gear catchup kicks in.
Rogues/Fury Warriors still have issues with layer 3. At what point will they be able to do layer 3? In Season 2?
That seems more like the skill check issue coming in to play.
Uuuh…isn’t that what Twisting Corridors is for? Those that want the challenge?
I see no point in having the same thing twice. If the wings are the challenge, then they should scrap the Twisting Corridors and toss the prestige items in the wings.
Otherwise, the wings should offer something different.
Blizzard doesnt design WoW with the intent to make it fun…they design WoW with the intent of keeping investors happy… aka extended length subs and revenue overall.
Problem is they lost sight of a basic concept…people continue to play and support FUN games not grindy frustrating games.
Are you even reading these threads? People are encountering impossible bosses for their spec on lower layers.
Also, since when should a practically mandatory part of the game have a hard skill check? If you are playing your class even remotely correctly you should be able to get past mandatory parts of the game.
What happened to Twisting Corridors being the challenge mode and the rest being the fun, mandatory stuff any smoothbrain can do to craft his leggo?
Uuuh… every aspect of the game as a relative level of difficulty or “challenge”? Should everything else be cut-scene easy just because one thing is difficult?
