1.6 million hp on the last floor boss upper reaches, starts one-shotting players. We have a combined DPS of 7k with an unholy DK and a Mistweaver monk. IMPOSSIBLE.
WASTING HOURS OF TIME FOR UNINSPIRED, POORLY-TUNED GAMEPLAY IS NOT FUN.
Do you even test these things before you just release them? People are UNHAPPY.
Oppressively high hit points and damage do not make for a fun encounter especially for gated content that’s needed for other parts of the game that are actually fun.
PLEASE FIX YOUR GAME. If these things are this hard for GOOD players what do you expect the majority of your mediocre player base to do? FIX TORGHAST.
Fix it or I’m taking my credit card and going somewhere else.

They tried to fix some perceived issue and did a (slang for urination) poor job of it. The arbitrary multipliers they stuck in mob health and damage are far beyond any mark.

I don’t exactly know what triggered Blizzard to make Torghast even more annoying for people, or just the maw in general. It’s not fun and wastes more time than it’s worth.
Torghast isn’t even a major content push either, which makes this even more puzzling. I can see them turning the whole thing into something cool if they just ease up on the difficulty and give us cosmetic rewards from doing it, other than just gating our soul ash/legendary progression for player retention.

On one hand, I do wish there was more to do in there. Like…super challenging puzzles that unlocked opportunities for more soul ash or stygia. Platforming puzzles that boggle the mind, low-key tailored to fit class mobility!! Or how about, if we beat a floor, we get to carry those buffs out into the Maw (for non WM players) I dunno. Any one of those would make it feel a little more fulfilling.
On the other hand, may I remind you we are in literal hell?

I doubt any realms were initially a hell, I believe it was a normal shadowlands realm with a purposeful afterlife but was destroyed either by the Jailer’s misdeeds or the plot to subdue him by the Pantheon of Death cause they disagreed with something he did.
Ideas that he was the the original being in charge of Oribos, that the Arbiter was made to replace him so the Pantheon could continue without his presence.
Part of me wants to think he is the mate of Azeroth, a being in the Pantheon of Life and his death siblings find it too taboo so they lock him away and entrap Azeroth’s soul in a world and make a deal with the void to keep her trapped via old god corruptions forcing titans to guard the planet and try to keep it on lockdown though endlessly finding themselves fighting off waves of enemies one such as the legion who was tricked into hunting world souls until Sargeras found Azeroth, who he had no idea where seh was, and was transfixed on freeing her by destroying the prison that holds her but he is only able to slightly waken her with a pinch because the titan pantheon decides he has to go into timeout as we go fight off another old god who wants to control the world soul and not destroy it cause he knows that his deal is to keep it locked up and he would have many toys to play with and good god this is a long sentence, one witch makes me think i should seek help not unlike you guys who think torghast should be so easy in the first month of an expansion when you know good and well its going to be nerfed and altered, added to and purged from, until it either resembles the current diablo 2 rifts or its so dumbed down you can sneeze and the entire place falls over like a bad game of jenga.
Too many people said " hey this isn’t half bad… maybe even… fun"
Bizzard cannot CANNOT resist fixing what isn’t broken in an effort to suck every ounce of potential fun out of this game I swear.

Is so bizarre that they’re actually trying to “balance” a mode that’s supposed to be crazy and fun.
I expected more buffs to anima powers with the addition of new ones.
Nah, they’re just turning it into an endless slog.

I have a bunch of soul ash, and have yet to get a legendary for my spec. I am fast finding it monotonous…
People are hilarious. Everyone recognized that the bosses were tuned way higher than the floors leading to them, yet when they tune the floor mobs to actually better match the level of the boss everyone is shocked.

I’m puzzled at the direction.
Through Alpha and Beta, they said very little.
We heard that the wings were this place where you went and gathered powers, and by the end, we’re ridiculously over powered. Something you could never be outside this one area. You couldn’t take the power with you though. This side was your weekly grind side. Not mandatory, but…still kinda mandatory if you want to keep up.
Then, there was another side, the Twisting Corridors. This side is for the people who want a challenge. Mage Tower if you will. This side gets harder and harder, but players are rewarded with prestige items for climbing. Nothing mandatory here…available for the challenge.
Even before the changes, the live version didn’t feel as fun as the Beta version. The powers handed out were negated a bit by stacking floor buffs. The “go at your own pace” negated by mobs designed to not let you go at your own pace. Still doable, just less fun.
Then the recent tuning.
The wings now feel like what Twisting Corridors is supposed to be…the challenge mode. People saying “It should be hard”. But why? Why have 2 of the same thing? Is ash really that hard to get? No, because the same people say “go run a lower layer”.
Personally, I liked the idea of an accessible to the masses side. Where the goal wasn’t really difficulty but seeing how ridiculous you could become. Seemed like something fun to repeat on a weekly basis. It was also unique, since most of the game is challenge based.

Right? Like it might as well just M+ again. Just did a layer 4 and it was taking us 2/3 minutes to kill a joe schmoe elite as a 5 man group.

I gave it my best. Failed. My take away, this is end game content for raiders (because gear has a big impact). The new mage tower. Something they hope the rest of us will come back to later when we are better geared. Pretty sure that’s not going to happen. Over it is over it lol.
It’s rare to see a change so overwhelmingly hated by the entire player base. You’ve almost gotta give them adulation for their accomplishment.

Is there any point to running anything higher than say layer 3 or 4 other than a bit more soul ash? Seems like the bulk of the ash is the lower levels and the legendary powers drop on layer 3 so just do that and call it a week.

If you finish layer 8 you get a mount in the maw
Since I only go into the Maw to grab my souls for the week that’s not a huge incentive.

“But…it’s a new mount. We thought you guys liked new mounts.”
Gear checks and skill checks are a thing.

Yeah it’s just a complete disappointment. It feels like I’m pushing through the worst dungeon of all time but there is no reward at the end of it. Got the bare minimum for my legendary and I doubt I’ll be upgrading it anytime soon.
