This map is utter trash and there is a reason the RBG version was created. All this map devolves into is a cluster of hunters, shamans, druids, and priests (MC) just trying to bump everyone off the sides.
The solution isn’t to remove knockbacks from PvP but to just make the EotS map the same as the RBG one.
I have started AFKing out of the EotS with this cheesy play style, its not fun for anyone but the sad sacks griefing everyone by doing this.
Can’t wait to have this thread flooded with L2P when this problem has been increased ten fold with tons of classes and now a race getting knockbacks.
Honestly you should have already checked out the enemy team, recognized the potential for knock backs and concluded that you might be better off at DR. Awareness is key. Since I main a hunter I sincerely get the LOL when I knock one or more off.
Gliders and jumps (pounce, disengage, charge, etc) or just know where to stand? It’s easy to avoid knockbacks if you face your back the right way and pay attention to what is standing beside you.
Even if you had knockbacks, its a complete clown show at the middle. It needs to RBG map for Random BGs.
Oh yeah, gliders sure are helpful when you are knocked into the abyss. Excellent “feature”. There’s a reason why RBG’s don’t use that map, because its unbalanced and cheesy.
The rated bg version of this map is superior in every way. You can still knock people off but it actally requires thinking. The way the bases cap is also vastly superior.
You know I use to be those who would talk about “Situational Awareness” but even that only gets you so far.
The times I’ve seen it in the clear of anyone with a knockback just to get hit in a CC train and someone run in real quick to boot me off.
Now yes I carry gliders, and even on my Monk I could just port back but the glider is only good once ever 3 minutes.
The people who don’t think this needs to be changed are the ones who spend the whole game in the middle trying to knock people off because they still find it funny to this day.
Random BGs are for the cheese. It’s why our bags are flooded with potions that give us a 30% damage increase or invisibility just for participating. It’s why engineering enchants are still usable there.
If the whacky, stupid fun doesn’t suit you then maybe give RBGs a try or focus on the outer bases rather than mid at the very least.
