Wait 40 minutes for a game, play 5 rounds and win them all, someone leaves. +0 rating. LMAO how did this even make it to live? My past 3 games have had a leaver and nobody gets any rating adjustment for some reason. It’s actually unplayable.
Gets fixed tomorrow.
Yeah, now the early leavers are only able to screw over half the players in a match instead of all of them. Great fix.
Pray to gamblor that every game you get with a leaver, they are shuffled onto the other team for the first 3 rounds.
Have you seen a lot of leavers? I’ve only played something like 4 total matches (24 games) haven’t had one yet.
I have about 110 or so rounds played and have only come across one leaver, but I only play rarely because of the experience as healer in the format.
My comment was more based on what the general fix means for those that happen to come across leavers more often.
Even if someone leaves at round 6, there is one person that is getting screwed. You could say while its not a perfect solution, reducing the negative impact a leaver has on match for as many players possible is right choice, and to that I say they should have just allowed the leaver to take their penalty, and let the match play out. This way the ones that didnt get the deadweight player in the first few rounds are forced to play 2v3 so the ones that got stuck with the deadweight on the first few rounds are given equal opportunity to not have their potential points robbed because shuffle rng wasnt on their side.
You think it sucks waiting 30+ minutes for a queue only to be denied any rating due to a leaver. Imagine waiting 30 minutes in queue, get deadweight on your team for the first 3 rounds and someone leaves, and everyone that you faced against gets to collect, while you are sent packing.
What do you want them to do though? They can’t give free points to the people unlucky enough to que with the leaver who lost all the games.
Atleast they’re doing something.
Didn’t see this actually, thats good news.
I’ve got like 60 some rounds played, and I’ve just gotten back to back leavers for 3 straight games. One of them left on the last round after I had just won all 5 and still 0 rating change.
I mean that’s just unlucky, but there’s nothing they can do for that. If someone leaves, all the previous rounds that were fully played out should count, regardless of win or lose.
I explained above what could be done already.
So play a 2v3 to give the other people basically free points? I mean, no…
The leaver isn’t always necessarily the “weak” link. They can also just be a salty player fed up with what they perceive as the actual problem.
This would just result in potentially more free points to the players who are not the problem.
Not really. It just means people will leave as soon as it’s their turn with the bad player.
What else can they do? It’s more than nothing.
Don’t let people leave. 30 min timer or something. If you disc, then you just stand there, oh well.
Get into match with 4 broken melee specs, other healer is prevoker. It’s an almost guaranteed 0-6 as Rsham.
Tunnel the blue, easy win.
Literally had them all apologize to me.
The temptation to leave early knowing full well it was going to be excruciating was high, but I stayed in and tried my best.
The healing situation has never been this bad in this games history.
the fix is simple. I think they did it in DoTA2. in addition to leavers getting -150 rating and account wide timeout. they also get placed into a bracket on that character with other leavers. and must play 3 shuffle matches with other scarlet lettered players before they go back into the normal system. let the quitters quit amongst themselves
Yea, it’s discouraging, isn’t it? That’s awesome you stuck it out though. More people need to be like you.
We gotta step back and acknowledge healers aren’t the only 1s leaving early in SS though. These 3v2 situations people are saying aren’t necessarily giving them what they think it would.
At the end of the day, they’re doing something. Maybe they’ll do more eventually, who knows?
That’s interesting. I like it! Maybe they’ll eventually do that.
The solution to leavers is Blizzard balancing their game. This will never happen.
They far too busy making sure melee have as much uptime and passive damage as possible.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the weak link though.
Solo shuffles entire metric is gauged around all players eventually playing the same hand. When you remove that aspect, and give rewards only to a portion of the participants, you botch the entire algorithm. Solo shuffle is not just 6 random 3v3s that happen to just take place in a single instanced match. Someone winning 3 rounds before a leaver pulls the plug, does not equate to winning 3 random skirmishes. All you are doing is artifically inflating certain peoples rating based on RNG.
Most leavers do so because of a streak of crappy rounds that will undoubtedly result in ratings loss anyways. No one is leaving if they truly believe they can come out with a net gain in rating. Therefore if its round 6 and somone that lost all 5 rounds prior, leaves, my solution results in the last player getting his cut from what was presumably at some point, a free hand out in previous rounds that he was not part of.
I had suggested something similar.
I dont think a leaver hell bracket is necessary per se. Just lock their rating and conquest gains into an escrow so to speak. Wherein when you leave a ranked match, any ratings and conquest that you would gain get deduced from the escrow amount. And have that rating/conq balance in effect for ALL rated modes not just solo shuffle.
Ie, if you leave a RSS match. The next X rating you would gain in any rated play, pays off the rating penalty. Do this and those that use RSS as a conqueat fuacet while focusing on standard 3v3 for climbing, will either not bother with RSS anymore or will play out their matches. And those that dont care about rating at all wont jeopardize their only source of conquest.
Wizards are in a very good spot right now. Most are very viable, some even broken. Except for maybe Boomy, which is why they are getting buffed in PvP.
