Fix MMR in solo shuffle before everyone quits

The games are so bad right now with so many players compressed down to rival. 1800 lobbies are just endless gladiator mount players. Blizzcon champions are stuck Duelist. Duelists are stuck rival or lower. Just let the top end of players get 3k so the player base is spread out properly. No one enjoys being curb stomped by gladiators just trying to get 1800 elite transmog set.

It was activision’s own research on skill based match making that came to the conclusion fair games of similar skill are far better for retaining players than constant blow outs.

At the bare minimum remove the mmr cap from solo shuffle.

Even better inject 300 MMR ASAP.

We shouldn’t have to lose 60% of the playerbase in 2 weeks due to capped MMR tilting everyone off the ladder. Venruki already did a video on this. He does casting for your arena seasons. Talk to him!!!

Counter point, continue to do nothing as developers and let it die since pvp is barely a minigame as it is.

Pretty sure they are forcing people into Blitz.

Then they will say pvp players prefer Blitz over Arena and Shuffle and only design around objectives instead of how the actual classes work, it’s a lot easier to say “well your class is poorly designed for pvp combat but you can do objectives and win”, that way they can get away with M+ only class design.

Takes a lot less talent and I’m pretty sure the new devs can’t handle the game as a whole, this could be their way out of pvp class design entirely.

Nah hes right, I hit 1850 week 1 or first day in week 2 cant remember, and my mmr throughout that push was never any lower than 1850 itself, and when I hit 1800 cr my mmr was 1940ish.

Throughout those 48 rounds of shuffle, every single player was a multi r1. Some of whom I actually recognized, some I didnt know, but I looked most of them up out of curiosity and I only vsed 1 healer that was not a multi r1, and only 2 dps that were not. They were all mgalds though (not just sl).

Right now disc priest is probably the best or second best healer in the game and also the most played healer in shufle and the highest rated player is 2190 in shuffle. That is so low for week 3. Like actually insane how low that is. That means anyone around my CR (1850) whose mmr is 1900+, mine being 1940, will be running into the best players in the game because they cannot push up right now due to whatever is happening with mmr, they are just stuck at 1900-2.1k mmr.

lets not. 2400-2700 is normal end of season rating for top players, anything higher is hyper inflated, and discredits earning rating if the inflation is too high, no thx

But they should not inject mmr every week, they should let the mmr naturally climb without any limitations, it discourages playing all season long until the last few weeks.

Man shadowlands ruined this already mediocre community.

You’re not supposed to be 2800+ week3 of a 24 week season.

If you just want your free rewards fast then just que random bgs (blitz). If you want to play arena just play it and quit complaining.

having a soft or artificial cap is no good though. if 2800 at the start of the season, was the same as 2800 at the end of the season, who cares. at least it would promote people playing all season long instead of the first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks.

if there was no weekly inflation then it would be ok if people could push high early. or at least let all arena brackets be possible to get 2500+ for titles early, then super slow rating injection

Fair, but why is it ok to hit 2800 in blitz then? The problem is there’s no mmr cap on solo rbgs but there’s a hard cap in solo shuffle.

Repeating this enough times doesn’t make it true.

2700 is not normal top end. Most seasons top end is around 3k. Inflated is like 3100 - 3200, hyper inflated is like 3500. Top end of 2700 for rank 1 though? Thats super deflated.

2700 is normal end of season rating for top 1%, historically. R1 is a little higher, 27-2850 is what R1 should be in a normal season, R1 higher than 2850 is inflated, if you go back and check R1 cutoffs for every season back to TBC.

With Gladiator being 2400, there should not be 3k+ rating seasons. if Glad was 2700, then sure.
