Well to be fair she was calling the alleged algorithm evil, though one can assume that if I persist in my disagreement, it would no doubt be broadened to impute that “I” myself was evil, (and likely an insinuation of having connections to some German dude who died in the 1940s). That’s usually where such logic leads ultimately.

Which really doesn’t describe his complaint at all. To change from “the first piece you get will always be an upgrade” to “every piece I get is the same slot” or “I only get gear for the only slot that doesn’t need upgrading” doesn’t describe what is being discussed here at all.
They could track the last reward or two and make sure that those are not rewarded again but then people would complain that this system isn’t part of the general loot pool and there is no way they are going to start tracking all your mythic+, raid, weekly events and vault loot to make this work.
