There is always a solution. The question is simply whether Blizzard will care to try one.

All we need to do is stand united in asking for SOME fix.

So many posts here are not helping…

Blizzard

I understand there are technical cause & effect actions to consider when maintaining a stable server ,a megaserver in particular,
however i pay you to find solutions that a free to play server can’t.

We the community, dont want layering on nightslayer , this server , as well as classic WoW itself is a community driven experience.
When we the community went to play what we paid for it wasn’t possible because of layering.
Both factions were unable to engage one another as we planned to because of the layering issue.

Blizzard,
We want to be unrestrained in our ability to organize server events , to play in the manner we paid for.
We want our money worth.
My subscription itself hinges on the success of classic which hinges on the communities ability to organise without interruption.
We want stable servers without layering, a solution that you are very capable of providing.
Funding isn’t a obstacle neither is talent blizzard, lets get this done so we can enjoy your product which will provide you more exchange for that service.
Hear me & the community on this.

I second Mayorwest. Layering has done nothing but intentionally sabotage the gameplay experience for literally thousands of players within the span of mere days after launch.

This new laying system sucks all the way around. Even outside of PvP

Sharding is the reason I left retail. It’s so bad

yup, the solution is more servers to cut back on all the layers :expressionless: this anniversary has proven that 1 of each type is not enough

Ive ranked 14 multiple times
2600xp multi class duelist

I think ill be alright in some battlegrounds.

R14 grind is literally who can degen the most. The new system is better, but its still just a time sink contest not anything related to skill.

The layering of zones on Nightslayer is awful get rid of it.

I know the intentions were to improve WPvP but it’s actually made the overall experience worse. People are disappearing randomly, we can’t even organize a proper defense because gen chat is unique to each layer.

We don’t need zerg protection because that problems resolves itself by players forming counter raids.

This is happening in every zone. And there aren’t even that many people in it???

im talking about winning. not going thru the motions.

Last night I was farming trolls in STV and had just cleared a safe area for me to drink. Well…I i promptly got layered and landed right in the middle of aggro mobs + 3 alliance that dogpiled me.

Get rid of layering or adjust it somehow. If I had known it was this bad I wouldn’t have bothered resubbing and just stayed on private servers, most people I know share the same sentiment here on Nightslayer.

The old system worked fine because it was 1 layer across the whole world, so you would be plopped in to a shard/layer every 30 feet for no reason. You might get layer swapped if you log out and log back in, but now while you’re playing

I have been layered while actively fighting a named mob. My guess is the system that balances horde/alliance in zones is the culprit.

Yeah I think so too. They are “testing” it

No. Layering needs to stay. I was on for that nightslayer event and even with layering, it damn near crashed the server the lag was so intense in that zone during the event. Just as bad as some of the early SOD pvp event lag.

These old classic servers and spaghetti code just simply can’t handle the load.

The servers most certainly can handle the load. Tell me why private servers using the old client can still host big events then?

I can name several iterations of vanilla private servers that were able to have multiple guilds fighting over world spawns. We didn’t have lag issues during classic at big fights either.

Fun fact about the WSG premades, the good ones are all highly rated Arena players in different expansions. Arena players translate to Vanilla quite well due to what you’re learning in that environment, so your argument there is pretty off base.

Also the comparison with APES is an accurate one, but that’s a group of people aiming for a competitive experience, not a mass invite guild that’s inviting for participation and fun. That’s also a different argument, are you wrong about the fact mass fights like that can be fun and skillful? Absolutely not there definitely is a basis for it, but the people that enjoy that aren’t there for that aspect, as a or so I’ve been called “sweat” myself. Mass pvp isn’t my thing, but it definitely has it’s niche, I used to lead WvW in GW2 which if you know what that is its massive scale PvP with a skillcap to it that absolutely exists, but most guilds aren’t striving for that or practiced in things like that WoW is the casual side of that.

As for the Vanilla PvP and Arena rating being irrevelent I agree, Arena isn’t in Vanilla but I wouldn’t say it’s irrelevent, otherwise Snutz a highly decorated multi-r1 player wouldn’t win EVERY tournament for duels in Vanilla solely because he’s just better. That isn’t an arguable point imo.

That all being said, layering will exist for a bit I’m not sure how Blizzard has a handle entirely on stability yet, but if you look at the layers, bro we got 20k+ people on upwards of 10 layers. I think they’re waiting for it to die down a bit in fear of server instability when it comes to people all meshing in the same zone on one layer.

TL;DR I don’t like layering, but I think I see why they have it right now, we only got one PvP server and it’s absolutely huge.
