Yes, sure, that is why I abandoned my perfectly good 48 Warlock for a level 1 Warrior to play with RL friends on a different server lol.
Anything less than a permaban for those caught exploiting is unacceptable

Blizzard doesn’t like to ban anymore. They rather give a short to mid length suspension now. Usually three to six months.

I could also tentatively accept a character roll back 2 weeks and a 3-6 month ban

The thing about the XP bug is that it wasn’t obviously a bug. How many people actually did dungeons in a raid group before after all? Whereas respawning a boss without clearing trash is a clear circumvention of game mechanics.

Lets hope there are some serious bans and item removals from this, but my guess is most of them will only get 3-5 day bans and nothing will be done to remove the weeks worth of raid loot, patterns and other rare / hard to obtain items from the game. There is no way players who have used this in raids / end game dungeons already “Didn’t know” this was an exploit, They are seasoned played not some casual/beginner first time player.
They will toss a few bans to a bunch of average joes and let these cringe streamers get away with it.

Honestly anyone of “fame” will not get in trouble for this. The double standard is real and I find it amazing. If a system is put in place that’s flawed, and someone exploits it. Just fix it and move on. Bug bounty program complete. Layering caused more harm than good especially in economy. My server was selling devilsaur leather for 2g today. Slaps on the wrist, no roll backs and 3 day bans are likely the outcome. I’d straight up be fine with that for BIS lol

Yes. They should have had at least 100 servers. What’s wrong with that? There already are crazy queues on popular realms. There already are server transfers because of the mess it is now. Why add the layering complication on top of it all?

I’m just saying, if you could get kicked off wow for 72 hours in exchange for 500 plus gold or BIS items, you wouldn’t? That’s like would you rather live in your house for a year and can’t leave for a million dollars or continue your life and your bank account stays the same. Everyone would choose the better item. Especially in poisoned classic “retail” wow.

It does clearly affect the economy. I guess at this stage right now all people who exploited are sending out/trading the resources to other players to still keep the advantage. You cannot remove the enchant that they did for someone, you cannot get back things that were given away for free to friends who did not participate in the abuse. Not mentioning the complete flooding of the auction market.
This is a mess to be honest. I believe some sort of restart would be beneficial to the health of the game.

I just had the character selected. I didn’t realize I was posting under my retail main, but why would i be trolling? I’m just stating a simple point. I play on sulfaras, and im level 33, been having fun leveling with friends and hanging out in orgrimar. I’m just stating a point. Remember when the XP bug happened with pots in BFA and remember the rep quest that was spammable and everyone got exalted? Both of those were the same things. No one got in trouble for it that I knew personally that did it and the few that did, only got 3 day bans. Go to reddit or any other wow forum and most people agree.
Ban for at least 10 days and remove any items/gold acquired. Blizzard needs to put their foot down and show this is NOT acceptable.

As punishment, their characters should be turned into level 1 gnomes in the Troll starting zone.
Edit : And they will not be able to play any other characters for the next 3 months.
