Fix for Repeat Instance Bug Exploit

Ban everyone involved permanently or launch a new server w/ fix applied for people to re-roll on that doesn’t have people in full bis from this exploit. Only two options.

People used it to get to 60 in a week. They knew they were exploiting it.

it’ll be interesting to see if blizz has any morals left or will all these big name streamers just get a little slap on the wrist. my prediction 3-7days tops for big names and keeping their accounts, maybe 24hours for their guilds that abused the hell out of it and permas for anybody else that wont have hundreds of fanboys defending them.

You gonna fix the server economies and non-legit BiS PvPer’s too? Too little too late.

what was the exploit?

what did they do i see no one saying it

what did ppl do? what was the exploit exactly?

Agreed. Layering has been nothing but problematic and thousands of us pointed it out before it went live. I was told I was being stupid when I asked if instances could be layered.

We’ve had entire guilds layer hopping after we wiped them so they can res. It’s been used to avoid pvp, to gather more resources than should be possible, AHs have been ‘accidentally’ layered, and now this. Is Blizz trying to break their own game or something?

pretty sure streamers were abusing this i expect them to be banned

Time for some fresh layerless servers without cross-realm BGs linked to these joke servers.

Quarantine this mess.

sorry but blizzard your are a total joke with your rush failure layering system

all these layering server are corrupt , let hope phase 2 you will have fresh server with no layering , anyone will be ban this is bs just a smoke show to calm down everyone ,

It is very unlikely that anyone will be banned. They are likely to do something similar to what was done with the incident of the consumable that gave unlimited exp - they will apply suspensions depending on how many times it was done, and they will receive some form of asset punishment, potentially including removal of gold and items purchased with gold during the time. (If I remember correctly, some players had accounts suspended for up to 6 months.)

And it will have to include streamers because the precedent set by not doing that would be unacceptable. It would, in effect, say that a section of the population was exempt from punishment. During the incident i mentioned some high profile players were hit with the suspension hammer, so I see no reason they wouldnt do the same now.

They need to ban everyone involved with no exception, this is just sad

I saw someone give 70 gold to a streamer tonight.

Now I’m wondering how that gold was made and if the streamer is going to get in trouble if it’s not legit.

^^^^^ This!

No way there will be serious consequences for people abusing this, as the streamer possy would need to face the same punishment and blizz does not want to lose any of that sweet free advertising. So its gonna be a mild slap, as usual.

These problems have been reported since beta and yet they still insist on using layering. At this point we can be glad if they even get rid of it. Such a terrible mechanic and its consquences have been forseen since its first mention. Everyone who knows the importance of one coherent server for “classic” and anyone who does a little research knew this would happen. Even blizz knows this and they still went the easy road to not stress their bad hardware.

You could have just created multiple servers and and announced merges if they would ever get to low… The worst thing that would have happened was that some people would have to change names… big deal.

I fully expect any player who has participated in more than 1 Baron Geddon kill in a single week to receive a suspension for this. That is not the kind of exploiting to be nice about.

if you guys dont ban these people and remove layering I see no reason to continue paying 15 dollars for private server special treatment for others.

of course this type of response comes from a level 120.
