Imagine joining a thread about exploiting and crying about the Patriots - the pinnacle of football success. Jets or Dolphins fan? Most likely a terrible team.
If you’re gonna play the cheating card, try and sound somewhat intelligent. Those six super bowls dont have an asterisk on em, nor the record books.
The Patriots are actually a better organization than the rest. These losers actually cheated.

This, more than anything, is the part I want to thank you for. I can handle the idea that bugs happen. I can handle players accidentally getting an advantage because of a bug.
But as bugs lead to intentional exploits that result in inappropriate gear\gold gain…I like that Blizz will go back and take that away. Thank you.

I’m surprised anyone would bring football into this. I’m also surprised that anyone would be unintelligent enough to reference the Patriots, known to spy on the competition during camp/preseason and the alleged Deflategate scandal that helped win an AFC championship game which eventually lead to a 4 game suspension… That almost proves the whole point that cheaters should be punished. The Patriot fanboys will claim that the deflated footballs had no impact on the Colts game. But it had a HUGE impact on the Ravens game the week prior, which was a nail biter game all the way to the end. They just got caught in the Colts game, not the Ravens game.

Pretty sure they perma banned people that were exploiting something in AQ back in the day. I really wouldn’t be surprised if they get perma bans.
Post on reddit about a 1 month ban (ok) and deletion of ill-gotten items (thank you!). Also need to take back their gold, but good steps Blizz

That post actually seemed like a suspension pending investigation, although the wording made it seem a bit iffy. If they’re banning them for a month as they investigate, that means this is gonna take a while, and that people who did this heavily are likely going to get permabanned. If they concluded an investigation that quickly, on the other hand, that’s much less reassuring.

Ban them all for 1-3 months and including rollbacks and character resets to lvl 1 for good measure. Fix this right the first time.

I think that they indeed have to be harsh on this one.
For as certain as the sun comes up in the morning there will be other incidents like this as we roll through the phases, make a hard firm stance early.
I was hoping for at least 2-3 months. Keep them out of the phase they messed up.

The problem with not taking extreme (i.e. permaban) punishment is that it not only encourages players to take advantage of every exploit they come across as hard as they can (and share it with everyone for maximum damage and minimal impact on themselves) but also that it makes people feel like idiots for not doing it. Oh, you didn’t exploit the hell out of this layering issue? Looks like you’re way behind and the only person punished for exploiting is everyone who didn’t do it.
You have to hit them hard. So hard that when someone rolls up on an obvious glitch and sees a boss respawn that should be dead, they don’t contact a GM to ask for permission, they get the hell out of there and tell their guild to do the same.

Having lived in Boston this made me laugh way too hard.
At the very least the GM never should have given the ok for them to kill those bosses again, everyone else gets 1 kill of each boss a week and not 2.
How many bans though? Knowing blizzard they only banned the dummies who did it the most and turned a blind eye to those who did it 10 times but have BiS now.
