Blizzard has banned pretty high profiled streamers in the past for using exploits.
Ban them all.

How does that make any sense? You can easily level to 60 in under 8 days played without any layer/instance abuse…
Ban all of these lamers. Once most of these exploits are fixed, I would 100% start on a fresh server. As others have echoed - these servers are shot to sh*t. AH is full of items 1 copper over vendor price, people are 60 with thousands of gold and BiS gear after 2 weeks.
I’ve seen so many people with multiple t1 pieces that there is 0 chance they weren’t abusing something. That doesn’t happen in 2 weeks. 95% of these people shouldn’t even be over level 50 at this point. Absolute JOKE.

Most of the people who abused layering are still on the full servers and will not move. Just transfer if you havent already and enjoy a server that has a 1:1 ratio, better economy because of the lack of layering. My guild left stalagg two weeks ago and we havent looked back and it was the best choice we ever made.
Just throwing my own opinion in here, even if it’s 5 hours late.
These folks need to be permanently banned. They have caused long-lasting and irrevocable damage to their server economies. It’s bad enough they exploited to get full pre-Raid BiS in like a week, but to have such a resounding impact on the entire REALM is not something you can punish with a 7-day ban. The advantage they got was more than 7 days worth of work and the damage they’ve caused is largely permanent.
Permanently ban these folks. Anything less just incentivizes further exploitation.

Personally, I would like to see public banishments in SW and Org. Drag their toons up in front of everyone and announce their sentence.

You can get full pre-bis without even layering by just leaving the instance and resetting it normally. You can do this in a week. Don’t understand what or how layering makes it easier when its already easy without it.

So how about fixing stuff like getting feared through walls and climbing out of / on walls in BGs etc.
Those are “methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods.”
6am est. They already shut the servers down once this morning, would be nice to know why they’re bringing them down again.

it literally takes like 6-10 days for most ppl to hit 60 (at a faster than average pace)
I have ~10 days played sure, but that doesn’t mean we cheated because we have pre bis on

Thank you for realizing this bug is a huge issue. As long as the exploiters have their items / gold removed, then the economy will be fine in the long run. If this issue isn’t taken care of, expect a large decrease in server populations.

Are they referring to “instanced encounters” as raids with lockouts, or regular dungeon runs?
I hope resetting a dungeon to run it again completely isn’t considered exploiting.
Imagine people think exploiting is okay after Blizzard did nothing the first time in classic.
I would roll a toon and wait in a que to see this.
