After playing other games like lost ark, Stardew valley, New World do you think we’re ever going to get an update to this profession (Fishing), I really enjoy fishing in almost every game that has it, I would love to see them do a rework to make this a fun little activity I could do, right now the fishing in the game just feels so outdated, would you guys like it if they updated fishing, or is that not really a thing anyone thinks about?

all they really need to do it add more mounts and pets that has low drop chances. like each zone whatever the is native to it have a mount or something with a low drop chance drop that represents the zone. even if it is a reskin. fine. it will make fishing that much more fun.

Oh yeah, I would love to have more fishing rewards, that would be awesome, and suggestion wise, I mean look at the games I listed and how fishing is done there, (Stardew Valley) to catch fish in that game, you have to keep the fishing slider in the correct area trying to fight against it to catch the fish, lost ark and new world both have really good visual effects that just make fishing rewarding just by doing it. I would love to just have a reskin of the fishing effects.
Having more rewards would be awesome, a mount for fishing in the different zones would be really cool, or even collecting a fishing outfit

I really loved the fishing in Red Dead 2, it’s funny to think of WoW fishing, Zelda on the Nintendo 64 had better fishing mechanics lol

-More flair when leveling up professions
-Visual updates
-Better reward system (Outfits, pets, mounts, different fishing poles)
-Transmog fishing poles
-Having different fishing items (Nets, cages, Harpoons)

Fishing should never become more difficult than it currently is though. More interesting is fine, but the difficulty level should remain the same.

I totally agree with that, I was just using Stardew valley as an example of how games do it differently, I mean I have 99 fishing in RuneScape and I love fishing in that game, it’s really relaxing and fun

Far Cry 5 has some great fishing, but not sure it would work in a game like this where large amounts of fish are needed for recipes. Most players would reject the idea of spending this long to catch a single fish, even tho it’s a more engaging experience.

I want to bear fish, stand at a drop point on a river where it starts to get shallow, fish instinctively jump downstream, and catch them with my mouth… bear form is optional.
