How many casts did it take you? I was in a full raid group for hours and not a single lure was hooked

Hm, I didn’t keep track of how many casts it took, but it took me about 2 and 1/2 hours to find the Strange Goop. If you didn’t know, you then take the Strange Goop to Lady Vashj, and she sends you on a shopping trip to grab items to craft the lure.
The video guide I referenced, the creator fished for about SEVEN HOURS before he got his. Some people got their Strange Goop within 15 minutes, apparently. RNG is RNG, y’all!
Now that I have the lure, when I get home from work I am going to get that mount and bring some friends along so hopefully they get it too.

I have a similar theory for myself, except it’s the opposite. Blizz devs love me and have put in a benevolent code to increase my RNG odds.
Bring a Horde toon because I only have the lure on my monk! We are gonna do it when I get off work in a few hours or so.

I haven’t paid much attention to what is available in the new patch so this is the first I’ve heard of there being a fishing mount. I’ll have to try and remember about it so i can try for it when I play.

From what I can tell, the lure doesn’t consume on use so it’s something that can be done daily. And something I probably will be doing daily. The rare also drops weapons and whatnot, and I think this particular one drops a 1h sword that is identical to the one in Tazavesh, only it’s yellow. I must have it.

I’ll probably go Strange Goop fishing “at some point”, the same “at some point” that will happen on some mythical day when I’m bored and have free time, but there’s a lot of other junk queued up for that same time slot. I imagine it will happen on a March 31st, someday.

My random mount luck went into the complete crapper the day I got Ashes and Onyxia the same day.
