It takes me 3 minutes to catch 12 fish, which works out to 240 fish an hour (give or take a few).
It took my net 10 HOURS to catch 8 fish (now that it’s actually working). Compared to the 2400 fish I could potentially catch in the same period.
Why bother with the nets? Can they get a buff? Or have their time reduced?
Yes. As you get renown with the Tuskarr you can upgrade them. I’m still farming the mats so I can’t tell you how much better the improved version is.
I’ve been farming pristine leaper pools for days and only found one nugget. I need nuggets!!!
they can drop wires that are used for harpoon upgrades (i think) and once u do the upgrade u can turn the wires in for rep, 250 once a week and a lot less per turn in after the first every week
but the real challenge is hoping you log in when the stock isnt fully depleted bc for some stupid reason blizz decided they can only be set at good or higher
the whole stock mechanic has GOT TO GO
I do think they should add fish nets as a transmog option.

Fishing nets are buggy AF anyway. They’re basically a roll of the dice if they are going to actually still be there when you come back anyway
They’re free fish you just get for being AFK, don’t consider it to be an alternative to actual fishing.
Idk if you were around when we had Garrisons, but the garrison mine basically killed mining that expansion, because everyone had access to free ore, in huge amounts.
The nets are nice, but as a WoW fisherman, I’d never want that profession to be unfeasible anymore.
The nuggets suck. It took forever to farm up 3 of them only to find I need another 6 for the next upgrade!

I love the fish nets.
I don’t have any rep, so I don’t know if there’s going to be more of them than the one spot. I assume so.
But I love the RP around them.
It would be great to be able to set traps for meat/skins as well.
This is the “mission table” without the mission or the table.
Instead of sending faceless underlings out on to mythical adventures, you need to head out into the wild, set the net, then go back and bring it in. Yes, I appreciate it’s utterly trivial.
But, like I said, I like the RP of it. I think it’s cool.

i came in here expecting a discussion about fishnet stockings on alleria and am very disappointed.
if the fishing hole depletes while you’re gone, the nets disappear.
Which is a ridiculously stupid design. It allows a single person with fishing the ability to grief an entire server.
EDIT: It also means never set up at the Waking Shore fishing hole - if a lunker group forms there, you’re pretty much guaranteed it will deplete. Lol.

That is not my experience with them. They were vanishing, but it was a bug that they recently fixed and was not related to depletion levels. What you can’t do when depleted is set them.
My 4th net is always blocked, whether i do daily or not. And always the same one.
I mostly do them for free fish and fish tool upgrades. They have horroble drop rates. I get more wires then anything across my alts.
takes 20 sec to set and collect from the fish nets - it is extra and when you upgrade them you get 20 every 6 hours.
