First thoughts on new DH

DH’s don’t require skill thats why.

We try the best we can with our 3 buttons … back off .

I logged in on patch day and hated playing my DH. I’m ok with changes taking place with any classes over time, but Blizzard didn’t do much to DH for 4.5 years or so and then decided to nerf it into the ground. Too late for things like that. Major changes should have been done early on. Now it just makes me angry.

I’m sick of the comments from the peanut gallery over the years about how DH’s only needed 2-4 buttons to play. That was only true if you couldnt play the class. Anyone really playing a DH was using far more than that.

If you’re talking pve, nothing requires skill if we’re being honest. If you’re talking pvp, you can’t, because it seems you’ve never left the 1700’s on a windwalker. Imagine that.

3 buttons are all that’s needed. Let’s not kid ourself , It’s a noob class made for noobs by Blizz.

Okay what was I doing on my outlaw rogue? Blade flurry sinister strike into dispatch and sometime between the eyes? That’s a nice 3 buttons. Sin? Garrote rupture and envenoms? Maybe fan? What isn’t 3-5 buttons in pve these days? WW is kinda all that comes to mind that has buttons you need to rotate in pve/pvp. Aside from that please Dh is just as noob as anything else depending on the content.

Hello. I read the title for your thread, and before reading any comments that might influence my first thought/s, I wanted to state mine.
As a Vengeance DH , my first thought/s are: Its workable, for the time being.
It does seem that the Fracture/Soul-Bomb build has more going for it than I’ll be able to dismiss as ‘flavor’.
But its early. Things ARE going to change. Like the old Bandido said, "Things aint what they was, but for now, they’ll do. "

Weakest in DPS but it still has more self heal and survivability than many other specs. So it depends on your definition of weakest and also in what situation.

So far on beta (I need razer updated before play live)

I’m finding activate flames, backflip out and check positioning a bit, but usually a step or two forward then rush back to group your fighting

Likewise. Its a bit cumbersome but seems to be the only way i can reliably place UBC where i want it.

I’m really hoping that covenants/soul binds/conduits/legendaries fix this since SL is built around us having all of these to perform at a “normal” level.

those classes have 1 sec global cooldown plus the casting time. usually 2 to 3 seconds.

DH have 1 Global cooldown to do damage, how much damage multiply by the leach (10% was the talent in BFA) has to do to get the HP bar back up? the only fast HP generation would be in meta, every 4 min. or every 30sec, 2 hits while using the Demonic talent; while a paladin or shaman they can constantly click the heal button.

the HP back has not comparation at all one click button compare to constantly having to fight to survive.

You keep saying, “to win.” Win what? It feels like I can’t win anything with my main after pre-patch.

If the new-and-improved Demon Hunter is more survivable, all classes must be dropping like flies all across Azeroth, because my main suddenly dies at the drop of a hat. After nearly a decade, World of Warcraft has literally become unenjoyable to play.

Good. There were too many of them and they were too powerful.

For the moment I’m resisting cancelling my account with the hopes that Demon Hunters can become playable again. If this is not fixed than I’m getting a Black Desert account.

Wowhead just released an article looking at pre-patch log data. Havoc DH has moved from the middle-of-the-pack position in BFA down to 21st place out of 24 dps specs. :confused:
