I don’t pay any, use tokens or I don’t play. I’m fine with that, use money for other stuff
Because even with your price hike they are paying more then you
They pay 23.99
Ok?

Thankyou for making a respectful reply and actually reading my original post. You’re correct, my argument isn’t really in so much as that the price adjustment isn’t justified, but at its horrifying timing for many out of work and tight on money to do this as the new expansion arrives.
The proximity to the new expansion and the relative stability of AUD to USD really raises concerns about how this has been handled and how players are being punished for it. I would’ve been more fine with an incremental change, or even a notice leaving it until the situation here had at least normalized somewhat.
You aren’t being screwed…quit being over dramatic.
If any Aus people here are serious about this topic. I feel like they would be better served by going to this thread.
And spread the word about that thread and get people to collect in it. It brings up more valuable points which are hard to argue with. Other then simply… “paying more aint fair” It gives direct arguments to many issues that Aus servers have and demands equality of service if equality of pay is expected.
I’m actually going to disagree. If they have been paying $15 AUD (or however much it was) for the last 15+ years the price shouldn’t be increased now.
I’m not going to throw a fit about it but it seems a bit scummy.
Are you trying to make some point?
Personally I feel we should all ideally be paying as little money as possible and never wanting other people to pay more. The day the US sub fees rise you’ll see me right here talking about that too. It’s not just about the prices themselves though as much as it is the timing. I’ll never defend a company taking more money from consumers when it makes 6.5bln a year.
Was about to ask the same
Oh look… More people whining about not getting a discounted sub price anymore
Ya, I won’t pretend to understand anything going on anywhere outside of my little home town, but this really looks like a situation where Blizzard is losing money on their investment in this market and they are forcing the consumer to make up the difference.
Perhaps that is standard affair, but even if it was, in the middle of a global pandemic, 2 weeks before an expansion launch?
Is that really the best time for this haha?
At least they are honoring any purchase from prior.
Still, must be tough to swallow.
Does seem like a very Activision thing for them to do.
I’m holding onto (what is frankly an impossible) hope that feedback might at least get them to make the change incremental or have them reconsider doing this until the economy can recover. Many people here particularly in Victoria lost their livelihoods and this will just make things even harder.
It’s just bad timing is all, if this had to happen it at least could have waited 6 months or so for the pandemic to hopefully end.
Oh, I am sure it is coming, some day. I’d be surprised if it doesn’t. But then, if it did, the AUS sub might go up again to compensate.
Currency dynamics are funky. It’d be better if the AUD and the USD (in this context) were equal. But then how do we translate that in to other currencies like UK’s Pound, or the Euro? Etc.
I was more hopeful that the record profits, the tax exemption Blizzard had in the 2018-19 financial year and the expansion might at least keep the sub rate steady. Here’s hoping we aren’t a guinea pig experiment for a potential global sub cost increase.
Its hard to sympathize when everyone is getting hit the same way by the pandemic. You are paying the same value as the rest of us now, which you have never had to do in the past. I don’t recall any posts thanking them for that at any point, but now they are all bad guys for taking it away? Never thought I would defend the turds running actiblizzard, but here we are.
I’m outraged. ignore the fact I just picked up 17 Gold Tokens today and extended my gametime to 2+ years and refreshed by Blizzy Balance to $150+ that’s totally um… yeah.
Anyone who buys 2 years of gametime at a time is already making poor decisions soo…
But its free!
