First Bellular now Asmon

Love him or hate him, Asmon isn’t the average streamer though. He’s THE streamer for WoW.

Hopefully he’ll hate it and stay in WoW.

He been blowing WoW for a long time now though

FFXIV videos get more views than WoW now.

You can expect more to follow suit, it’s just a business move for him and others in that profession.

Why would you waste time with Asmongold and his sweaty chat when there is a plethora of cute anime Vtubers to watch.

I hate to agree…but I totally agree.

I continue to not understand why anyone cares what some streamer is doing.

He’s not dumb. WoW is in a content drought and a lot of people are looking for validation to play something else during this time because they’re not grown up enough to make their own decisions

So Asmon will talk up FF14, pull the fan base from there, and the disgruntled from here

Then when 9.1 drops, he’ll come back praising WoW and how they did such a good job and delivered on so many promises.

Then he’ll continue to play both and praise both and coincidentally not be able to make up his mind on which one is better, allowing him to keep members from both games hooked to his streams.

Smart game plan. But obvious bait is obvious

^^ Was kinda thinking that. I like Asmongold but he’s said multiple times he doesn’t really care about story. Preach would be a more interesting streamer to see try FF as he loves RPGs.

They’re not under contracts with blizz so they can play what they want. It’s not either or for any of us.

If someone is bad you can’t call them out you have to baby them. Even if they wipe the group. It’s forced positivity

Still don’t care what Asmongold does, but Preach and Belllular giving FF14’s endgame a shot sounds like fun, will definitely check that out. I’ve heard very mixed reviews on FF14 raids so it will be good to get a somewhat “professional” opinion.

There will always be topics about popular streamers because there are always toxic drama queens to post a whiny rant about them.

That could happen but I don’t see it happening because it’s a stretch against the more realistic scenario:

He won’t like the game because it’s not at all a game for him; he recognizes that. It’s why he’s avoided it for so long through several downturns in wow over the last 3-4 years and he will just move right back to bc classic after giving it a shot.

He’s looking for good gameplay. He already knows its a game that won’t offer him that. He’d still have more viewers watching bc classic than him begrudgingly playing ff14.

How dare anyone look for good gameplay instead of how fast can I “win”

Is it true that in FF14 they have a GM manually read each and every filed report and then chat/whisper with the person who made the report?

Heard this claim over on Bellular’s stream, not sure if it’s true or not :face_with_monocle:

…if it is true, then that level of customer service just absolutely blows WoW customer service (mostly automated, no human interaction) out of the water :joy:

Sorry if a dumb question, I’ve never played FF14 but been paying attention to it recently since all these “big” WoW streamers keep casually talking about it/bringing it up.

Asmongold is kind of like the Howard Stern of streamers. He doesn’t care about the sponsors, he just kind of says and does what he wants knowing people will watch. The sponsors jump on because they know this.

Unlike Bellular, who is very obviously being sponsored by Square and saying what Square wants to hear.

It’ll be interesting to hear Asmongold’s thoughts, as you at least know his opinion will actually be his own.
