I’d guess it’s just a mythic mechanic to set a hard enrage timer because she can’t keep saving you.

It’s probably similar to the Erunak boss fight with being mind controlled.

I wonder if those who keep N’zoth’s gift will see a little floating eye above her after the fight to signify that she’s still touched, assuming she survives.

I don’t think we’ll even fight her. From what I can make of the dungeon journal, when the boss gets to a certain health %, he pulls us to one of two different realms (fear/delirium) until 60%. These realms have punishing mechanics but also benefits (increased boss damage/increased haste). At 60%, we go back to reality and the two portals to these realms are now always open, so we can now enter them as we like.

On non-mythic difficulties, Thalyssra holds a portal open so we can also exit them whenever we need to (if the mechanics are too punishing and we need to recover health in reality). On mythic, she can’t portal anymore so we get stuck in one, while she’s still in the reality dimension, now mind controlled. After the boss is killed, Thalyssra would then break from MC and can portal the raid out of whatever dimension we’re stuck in.

While i wont say her survival is certain, i’ve been stewing over it and the fact she is a raid mechanic on mythic improves my hope a bit.

My reasoning goes like this, if she survives to the end of the regular raid fight with the herald of nzoth or whatever it’s called, then she will be fine at the end of the mythic fight.

Doesn’t she have dialog with Azshara and even after the fight ? It is pretty sure she survives then.
