Hope there was some good data from the two weekends of testing on the PTR. I’m curious about any potential tuning adjustments or changes made. Do we think the raid might drop tomorrow, or are we looking at a later release? Hoping it’s not delayed until the end of October!
Where are the blue posts?
Sincerely,
All the players tired of Molten Front dailies and PvPers eager for the next season.
There has been no mention of an end to the current Arena season, and the beginning of a new one, which I imagine will happen with the next phase release.
If there is some notice and some downtime between seasons, my guess would be that it would be at least 3 weeks from tomorrow (or the Thursday before that, as they tend to open raid content on Thursdays, I think).
The first phase, including the initial PvP arena season (which started 7 days after launch), lasted 28 weeks.
Firelands opened on June 28th, 2011, after a 7-day break between arena seasons.
Classic Cataclysm Timeline (Speculation):
If we apply the same timeline to Classic, assuming a release on May 20th, 2024, a 28-week phase would put us at December 2nd, 2024 for the end of the first phase and the PvP arena season.
There’s typically a 7-day break between arena seasons, which would land us around December 9th, 2024, as a possible opening for Firelands.
Blizzard mentioned that this might happen as early as October. I wish there were more details from Blizzard regarding the timeline or any solid information about PTR raid testing that could give us a clearer picture.
They probably don’t want to give themselves a deadline if they don’t have to. Are you planning on scheduling something important around the launch of Firelands?
Mass wiping Horde raids as they try to enter, for example?
There was only 1 weekend of testing and it was filled with bugs!!!
It’s clear that the release won’t be tomorrow as Blizzard has not announced the conclusion of Arena Season 8.
The first week marks the announcement of the arena season’s end.
In the second or third week following the announcement, we enter the last week of the arena season.
The third or fourth week signifies the end of the arena season, and participants spend their points.
By the fourth or fifth week, a New Phase commences, introducing Firelands and the upcoming arena season.
This further supports the argument that ZA/ZG was not an actual phase, as it introduced neither a new raid nor a new arena season.
Lol at best we will see Firelands on 10/24 or 10/31
While this is very true None of the seasons/phases lasted this long threw classic.
The first arena season in TBC Classic lasted 12 weeks (season 1)
The First season in Wotlk classic Lasted 14 weeks (season 5)
Faerlina is 99% Horde (around a 70 to 1 ratio), and while this would be fun, we did a lot of that during ICC back in Wrath. As soon as two 25-man raids exit the instance, we get overwhelmed very quickly. Don’t get me wrong; most of us on the Alliance side made our characters because of the vast Horde population, as we love our world PvP.
For example, in Tol Barad, we can have 4-5 players in a group taking out over 10 Horde simply because they aren’t in a group and can’t work together efficiently. However, world PvP is better suited for scenarios where groups and raids haven’t been pre-formed.
unless they opened it up for testing without saying anything we’ve only had 1 raid test so far
classic raids release on thursday so even if we were getting it this week it wouldn’t be tomorrow
tbh i wouldn’t expect firelands to be out before the people who have been doing the molten front dailies since the start actually reach the final phase of quests and people start completing the meta achievement
thank you I don’t really follow PvP one of the other reasons I’m so additament about feral dps needing buff even tho they’re “s tier” in PVP has ZERO effect on my playing the class.
so that have it literally the last day of october. technically it meet the timeline. IF it happens.
1 week season cooldown, minimal. I’d say 2 actually…which has this november. Given they have hosed points conversions, a few times, I’d take the 2 weeks really to have it smoother.
But 1 week rush job. Oct 28…but raid drops thursdays so the 31st.
Assuming they even fixed raid issues. Status unknown, there. As SOD has them tied up. It seems they work around “let them win” in pvp of late.
So many will jsut go afk spam in av not AB, again.
That need looking at…again. the for some reason we can’t grasp golden child of wow can’t have pvp based on afk honor/mark farms after all. Even cata AV is not this anymore. that was dead as hell this past CTA weekend.
Indeed, the “Season of Disaster” takes priority while Cataclysm burns, which is quite fitting as Cataclysm is most likely the last expansion of Classic. Why not go out with a bang, or the lack thereof?
