is it doable or is greater pyro too good to not play? i hate the playstyle honestly

Fire still has amazing dmg without gpyro. Just gp is just training wheels or gutter bumpers in bowling, not needed to make the spec work
It would be bad for any mage comp outside rmx. Greater pyro is one of the biggest threats that makes sure the other teammates never get focused. I really don’t have a problem with it. I just think their shields should be lowered by 5 to 10% and they’d be fine.
gpy into most comps is just kick bait to get free polys
fire mages would still be the same tier
they win on lucid bracers combust
or their rogue accidentally winning on a random kidney they maybe threw a proc or 2 into
most comps can stop gpy 5-10times without you ever getting one off. Its just there to eat kicks. I been playing firestarter and vision in one of my minors for superrrr short combusts to kill mws/rdruids since otherwise dps 2min defensives just come back every time you have combust and you get nowhere.

I always thought Fire/Warrior comps never ran Gpy.
I did see the firemage i played with use it when they switched to me. The opponents were dead when they did that 
If youre talking about in arenas you HAVE to know when to spec for greater pyro or when to not to get out of challenger
ya pretty sure if you have fire blast and mecha bracers bound you can get 2700 on fire mage in 2 days

fire mages without greater pyro would be weaker across the board for comps that aren’t RMP and WMP, but top players can do without cuz lol poly and fire mage/hpally synergy
No gpy mostly impacts fire mage wizard and maybe sub/fire 2s or something
But it’s definitely not necessary whatsoever, fire would be t1 with or without gpy
If there was going to be an actual reasonable mage nerf esp fire mage it just has to be hitting barriers, because the strength of barriers makes it extremely hard to counterpressure a fire mage and hence makes gpy really reliable at times too
