Oh well at this point we all see fire mage is dominating from 2019 so it has been 3 years probably blizzard will just let it stay strong. So not playing with a fire mage is probably just dumb.
But hey, they have spammable poly, ring of frost, DB, root, 2x shimmer, triune barrier, cauterize speed, nigh fae, block, seed, alter time, and combust. Like literally does fire mage need ALL of this? A mage can cross CC entire enemy team and burst one down, kiting 2 people and tanking one dps. Not sure if all of those are intended -.-

Bm hunter used to counter mage since bc. My pet doesn’t land any hits and when it does it’s doing no damage due to triune.

My favorite part about fire makes is how forgiving their gameplay is for them.
(Somehow) failed a go? No worries! Just kite around for 45 seconds until you can combust again! Died? No worries. Here’s a cheat death you can ice block! Wasted trinket and getting tunneled (again somehow, considering mages can straight blink out of stuns)? No worries, you can ice block! Got kicked trying to CC? No worries, you actually have CCs in every school of magic!

I wonder what you people think about DH, has more cc, mobility and also their burst is no only during a CD. They can burst 100% of the time while im combat. Massive self-healing, stuns, incapacitate, ranged kick.
Not if they take shimmer, which they all do.
They are the only class that could actually 1v3 an entire team, their toolkit is beyond broken… if a mage can’t get r1 they are pretty much terrible

I’ve actually seen plenty of Mages opting for Burning Soul instead, which is super solid for survivability even if Shimmer has more utility.
But seriously, Mages currently have no weaknesses. Most mobile out of all casters, tankiest DPS class in the game and has the best burst. The only thing a Mage can’t do is heal their teammates.
Balance druids excel in almost everything too, but Fire is just an improved version of Balance at this point, minus the off-healing. These classes could definitely use a survivability nerf if they’re going to keep everything else, and as much as Combustion’s burst damage is disgustingly overtuned, I’d rather nerf the defensives before anything else.
Why do Mages need Triune Ward on a 25s cooldown, Mirror Images, the best Endurance conduits out of any class, Alter Time, Cauterize and Ice Block is mindboggling. That’s not even mentioning the utility of CC and the like that can be used defensively.
